One more thing: Thank you all for following, reading and interacting with me on here. It has made the job more fun in some ways. More stressful in others. Those who enjoy what I do, share my passion for CFB, provide enormous motivation for me to work hard to keep you coming back

@MatthewAguilar5 @CaesarsPalace Intimate, yes, it was a converted tennis pavilion. Smelled like cigar smoke, steamed hot dogs, sweat and Caesar’s Woman perfume. Intoxicating. And yes I was ringside for that fight.

@timdahlberg @CaesarsPalace Because it was so intimate? Seems like arenas now are too big. Nothing anymore like this or the Blue Horizon or the Olympic.

The IBA press conference in Paris today about Imane Khelif and Lin Yu-ting was the most bizarre, hate-filled, incompetent, humiliating - if the IBA can be humiliated - and buffoonish thing I have ever seen anywhere near an Olympics. Except for one part. thestar.com/sports/olympic…

@MatthewAguilar5 It was brutally hot ringside for that fight, I remember that and the buzz about them finding the bodies of the Spilotro brothers earlier that day

Two years after devastating Hearns KO loss, Duran was back after two wins over journeymen in Panama. Sims, the half brother of Marvin Hagler, was a top contender. Duran was deducted a point for low blows which cost him a big upset win. 3 years later, he’d beat Iran Barkley.

I will always be thankful to the Peter Magowan group for making the address of the ballpark 24 Willie Mays Plaza, and building that beautiful statue. Willie spent the last quarter century of his life having that honor.

One thing that the Giants incredible team of broadcasters consistently does is make sure we never forget that they're human, we're human, and we're watching a game played by humans. Flem couldn't have done a better job with a heartbreaking situation. He let us in.

Dave Flemming was in the visitors' radio booth at Wrigley Field the moment the report of Willie Mays' passing was made public. Here's what it sounded like on our airwaves as he passed on the news to Giants fans everywhere.

I’d like to see #MLB retire Willie Mays’ #24 to honor the greatest player the game has ever seen. Nobody should ever wear #24 again in a Major League Baseball Game.

One of the great players ever, the Say Hey Kid Willie Mays, passed away minutes ago at age 93. Possibly the only player who graded 80 in baseball scout lingo, or a 10 to laymen, in all offensive and defensive categories. RIP, Willie!

Was playing golf in 2002 at the #TysonLewis fight on a new course in Memphis with @timdahlberg George Kimball, Dave Anderson and others. A single came up behind our foursome and we waved him through. Turns out it was Jerry West. Couldn't have been nicer. RIP
