✅ 79% of voters back the Safer Supervision Act. New national polling data from @FabrizioWard proves what we already know. Americans across the political spectrum agree that it's time to fix federal supervision. Supervision should be about safety, stability, and second chances, not keeping people trapped in the system. 🔗 Read more about the findings and what they mean. tr.ee/H7xSoVPzas #SaferSupervisionAct

People of every walk of life want and deserve safety - no matter who they are or where they live. But cutting federal grants that protect victims of crime and reduce violence through strong community and law enforcement partnerships, threaten safety. #ReverseTheCuts

@megoconnor13 Sadly, this is just another example of how the U.S. prison system would rather perpetually punish people with old records, than give them access to rehabilitation, stifling financial success and hindering efforts to successfully reintegrate back into their communities. Shameful!

Florida is charging formerly incarcerated people $50 a day even if they’re no longer in prison. The “pay to stay” fee is based on the length of the original sentence, so even when they're released they must keep paying for a prison bed they’re not using. abcactionnews.com/news/local-new…

Edward captures the essence of second chance employment: “It’s not just about finding a job; it’s about recognizing our humanity, our capacity for growth, & our right to rebuild. Our past doesn’t define us; it’s our present resilience & determination that shape our path forward.”

This #WomensHistoryMonth , let’s remember the millions of mothers separated from their children due to incarceration and recognize that when we put women behind bars it doesn’t just affect the individual; it devastates families, and continues to do so long after a sentence ends.
