This is your daily reminder that leftists *literally* have zero understanding of what conservatives believe. Just like they are incapable of doing the one layer of abstraction necessary to understand “per capita,” they also are unable to do the one layer of abstraction necessary to understand the problem with DEI hires—and why the picture below is not an example of DEI. Where conservatives see individuals with agency and skill, leftists see pitiful victims in need of quotas and shortcuts to succeed. Leftists simply cannot conceive of a world in which a minority wins a position based on their merit.

@InnerVoic_e @SteveOnSpeed You should focus on the duties you have and the duties you will incur with any decision and act rationally from there. Passion without rationality is just financial hedonism.

@SteveOnSpeed Not every decision in life should be run through a financial calculator. If the work aligns with your passion and go for it

I'll just say it: Paying big money to get a degree (especially a graduate degree) in a low-paying career field makes ZERO financial sense, but people are still doing it.

@Jtfang23 @spencer_askew @thisjvs And yes, I'm sure there are some Conservatives who do. Assume that when I speak to the generalities of conservatives I am not speaking in a monolith.

@Jtfang23 @spencer_askew @thisjvs Why does it have to be discouragement? I can encourage people to focus on family without demonizing anything, but only pointing to the reality of trade-offs in life. And no, Conservatives don't see women as baby factories. But it's a biological reality only they can be pregnant.

@Jtfang23 @spencer_askew @thisjvs And what would be wrong with encouraging men and women to pursue family over other options? Like why is it ideal to support turning people into cogs of consumerism and credentialism?

@Jtfang23 @spencer_askew @thisjvs That's not what I am saying there at all. I'm saying that getting a degree for a degree's sake and the debt that comes with it is dumb. My honest opinion is that men and women should prioritize family over materialism and hedonism; no matter the form that takes.

@Jtfang23 @spencer_askew @thisjvs There are questions raised as to whether the particular careers women are going into massive debt for are worth said debt and whether said debt / career is worth delaying starting families. Asking these questions isn't unfair; there are social implications for both.

@Jtfang23 @spencer_askew @thisjvs Not really. Obviously in a monolithic sense, are there conservatives who think women have no place in certain fields? Yes. Is that the main stream opinion? Not at all.

@Jtfang23 @spencer_askew @thisjvs At least in the West, we're well over a generation into removing the stigma, provide massive incentives / assistance, and massive propaganda campaigns to encourage particularly women to go towards the male dominated fields.

Actually, it proves the value of merit over DEI. Victor J. Glover, Jr. previously served as the pilot of NASA’s SpaceX Crew-1 mission to the International Space Station as part of Expedition 64. He holds a Bachelor of Science in General Engineering, a Master of Science in Systems Engineering, and a Master of Military Operational Art and Science. He is a Captain in the U.S. Navy. During his career as a pilot, he accumulated 3,500 flight hours in more than 40 aircraft, over 400 carrier arrested landings, and 24 combat missions. He deployed three times to serve his country. I am proud that he was pilot of the mission. This proves that merit works.

@enbeeeh @FLangnickel @forallcurious Parachutes at 5000F and 20000+ mph are a very big problem; which is why that's not what happened at all. By coming in at a shallow angle that may appear "horizontal", the capsule takes longer to lose altitude. That means more time for the atmosphere to slowly drain the velocity.

@DrKarlynB @TheLaurenChen You're going to get hate, but genuinely the most extreme Leftist I know espouses these lines on a nearly daily basis. It has become so integral to their personality and and annoyance to the peace, that I actually modified my Discord to outright hide them as I ignored them.

@kazuzuwashere @MicheleSteele Fun fact, the human body can survive pretty much any speed. Less fun fact, the human can't survive rapid change in speed / direction.

@InvestingAddict Some people just can't understand that retirement is not luck and just hard work. It's a simple combination of delayed gratification + time value of money.

Wealthy people tell you to take your 401k match, max your Roth IRA, and invest in the S&P 500. Broke people tell you not to. The idea that you can’t retire doing that is simply wrong. The people not retiring aren’t investing or earning enough.

@GoodnessUC00 @onijogbon999 It's 2. What you have here is A + B + C, where: A = 100 B = -99 C = 1 No matter what order you combine those terms, you'll get 2.

@CarnivorChris33 @evan_bellamy6 @Fuquet @FTFEofficial I know the 25000 mph sounds scary, but this is a reality of physics... the human body basically doesn't give a damn about speed. It's rapid change in speed or direction that tends to get us in trouble, and the descent takes long enough to prevent that from being a problem.

@CarnivorChris33 @evan_bellamy6 @Fuquet @FTFEofficial What part of it doesn't make sense? Peak acceleration is -3.9g at interface. Total descent time is ~13-14 minutes. Average acceleration after that is less that 1.5g, likely with peaks as the chutes deploy. So specifically what part of the math and engineering is the problem?
