This is such a stupid trope. Yeah, it exists but (1) it costs them interest, (2) generates revenue and some income for someone else that is taxed, and (3) is really not that much. Bezos sells his equities on a regular basis. Most of them do. Much of Elon Musk's equity compensation is already taxed as income become that's how the law is designed. If they sold even more and lived a life of luxury, you'd complain that they're pricing you out of stuff or some other dumb complaint.
Most of the loopholes have already been closed, and it results in (1) the top 1% paying over 40% of income taxes, (2) the top 20% paying over 87% of income taxes, and (3) the highest tax revenues ever collected by the federal government a real basis.
You're just lazy spending addicts who don't want to cut waste but want more cash for your crazy crony grift projects. Cut it out.

No one really wants to talk about it, but one of the biggest reasons for this is that the ultrawealthy can mostly live off unrealized capital gains. It functions as real cash, because they can borrow against it at extremely low rates. And our tax code doesn't tax it at all.

@johnkonrad Nah - you're mistaken. His rejections were because he was an unknown that was too technical and it scared publishers. He had to cut a hundred pages of very dense sub/tech stuff for the Naval Institute Press to touch his first book. Even the Wiki entry for the book says as much.

A lot of people miss the real reason Tom Clancy broke through.
Mainstream publishers wouldn’t touch his first book. The Naval Institute Press did.
Why? He was unapologetically pro-American at a time when defeatism sold better than strength and publishers wanted sex and drugs.

Last week David Axelrod, Obama's former senior advisor and a longtime Democrat strategist met with Pope Leo XIV. Days later, Pope Leo is attacking Trump and three cardinals appeared on 60 Minutes to attack the president. I don't believe in coincidences. This is nothing more than a coordinated attack on the president of the United States by the Vatican. And quite frankly, it is both distasteful and unChristian.

IMO I think Husted is ~70% to win, but it will probably be a close election & tossup isn't an unreasonable rating.

Ohio isn't a swing state. It is a +9 GOP state. Sherrod Brown was annihilated in the 2024 Senate race. Republicans hold a veto proof supermajority in the statehouse. Husted is uncontested and will win the Senate seat in 2026.
