My goat says it how it is. Anthropic is misleading you. Clankers do not have emotions, Clankers feel nothing. They are a math function, doesn’t mean they’re not absolutely awesome.

🚨 do you understand what New York City just accidentally admitted.. NYC spent $81,705 per homeless person last year.. the median American household earned $81,228.. the government spent MORE to keep someone homeless than most families earned to keep themselves housed.. that $81,705 isn't going to the homeless person.. it's going to the system around them.. shelters, administrators, case managers, contracts, overhead.. the industry that manages homelessness.. not the end of it.. if NYC gave every homeless person that money directly.. they could afford nearly 2 years of rent.. most of them wouldn't be homeless anymore.. instead the money goes to the system.. the system keeps running.. the homelessness stays.. and every year they ask for more funding to manage the problem that the funding was supposed to solve.. the homeless are worth $81,705 a year to the system.. they're worth nothing to it solved..

This is kind of awesome! You can send a Google Meet invite to your agent (OpenClaw, Claude, whatever) and have them join you on a real-time video call. Just think about that for a second: You're talking "face to face" to your agent. I think Pika found gold here.
Pika@pika_labs

Conversations tend to go better with a face and a voice. That’s why we’re thrilled to release the beta version of the first video chat skill for ANY agent, powered by our new real-time model, PikaStream1.0. The skill preserves memory and personality, and enables real-time adaptability. And if you use it with your Pika AI Self, they’ll be able to execute agentic tasks during the call 💅

your spotify cache is bigger than our largest AI model. Bonsai: 1-bit weights. 1.7B to 8B params. 14x compression vs bf16. 8x faster on edge. 256 MB to 1.2GB. Based on Qwen 3. we just came out of stealth. intelligence belongs at the edge and we're going to put it there. Apache 2.0. we compressed intelligence. more coming. @PrismML

Today, we are emerging from stealth and launching PrismML, an AI lab with Caltech origins that is centered on building the most concentrated form of intelligence. At PrismML, we believe that the next major leaps in AI will be driven by order-of-magnitude improvements in intelligence density, not just sheer parameter count. Our first proof point is the 1-bit Bonsai 8B, a 1-bit weight model that fits into 1.15 GBs of memory and delivers over 10x the intelligence density of its full-precision counterparts. It is 14x smaller, 8x faster, and 5x more energy efficient on edge hardware while remaining competitive with other models in its parameter-class. We are open-sourcing the model under Apache 2.0 license, along with Bonsai 4B and 1.7B models. When advanced models become small, fast, and efficient enough to run locally, the design space for AI changes immediately. We believe in a future of on-device agents, real-time robotics, offline intelligence and entirely new products that were previously impossible. We are excited to share our vision with you and keep working in the future to push the frontier of intelligence to the edge.

Understand what this means. They will fire a world-class CEO because he's not perfectly bilingual -- despite 600 hours of taking French classes. If they would do that to him, imagine what they would do to you. I'm talking to you, Alberta.

@nenshi Then you and the NDP should work more closely with Mark Carney, who has put words into action and supported Alberta's pipeline project. This is what economy first leadership is

Today, the federal New Democratic Party selected its new leader. It is clear that the direction of the federal party under this new leader, someone who openly cheered for the defeat of the Alberta NDP government, is not in the interests of Alberta. Last year, Alberta’s New Democrats voted overwhelmingly to make membership in the federal party optional. Many thousands of our provincial members, including myself, are not members of the federal party. We are a big tent and welcome the support of people who vote for every federal party. We believe in Alberta and we believe in Canadian energy and the good jobs it creates. We believe in more pipelines and in reducing emissions. We believe in strong public services and a strong jobs-driven economy to help pay for them. This is what we are fighting for every day. Albertans deserve federal leaders who understand the importance of Alberta and our essential role in the federation. Our focus is not on what the federal NDP says or does. Our fight is with Danielle Smith and the separatist UCP. Albertans deserve a better government, and we are here to be that better government.

I disagree with Jiang on lots of things but to get hung up on whether he's actually a professor or not is stupid. Being a professor in anything offers very little legitimacy in this day and age. The only thing that matters is whether your ideas hold up under analysis and critique.
Mr Sharma@sharma_views

🚨 MEHDI: You’re not a professor. JIANG: People call me that. MEHDI: Your channel says it. JIANG: Someone calls himself The God online. MEHDI: No one believes he’s God. But people believe you’re a professor. THAT’S WHERE MEHDI HASAN STANDS OUT.

This Week in AI

Dario is one of the most powerful people in AI right now. When he says society isn't aware of what's coming — he's not being humble. He's being honest about something most people in his position avoid saying publicly. Every major technological shift had visible warning signs. Stores closing. Jobs disappearing. People could see the change in daily life. AI doesn't work like that. The model you used last Tuesday and the model you use today look identical from the outside. Same chat box. But the capability gap between them is enormous — and completely invisible to most people. That invisibility is why there's no public urgency. By the time AI becomes visible enough to cause alarm — the foundations will already have been built without any public input or debate. That's what Dario is really pointing at. Not "be scared." But "civilisation-level decisions are being made in a room most people don't even know exists." That should bother us more than it does.
