Be wary of all attempts by Australian left wingers and progressives to try position themselves as the “real patriots.” They see One Nation polling numbers on the up so they think they can combat this trend by proclaiming themselves to be the real patriots. But they fundamentally refuse to engage with the real grievances of patriotic working class voters. The main grievance these voters have is that the Labor government’s mass migration policies will make Australians into a minority in their own country within 15-20 years. That’s the fundamental grievance. Labor and the Greens will never address this grievance because they don’t believe it’s legitimate. They fundamentally believe that Australia is “Stolen Land” - that Australia was built on genocide. Both Albanese and Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan have said that they believe the only true Australians are Aboriginal Australians - all other Australians are migrants or “foreigners” in the words of Jacinta Allan. So they will never engage with the fact that tens of millions of Australians believe in Australian culture and nationhood and don’t want it to be completely diluted and washed away by transforming the nation into an airport waiting lounge. They fundamentally just don’t believe that the culture of white Australians is valuable or legitimate. They think it’s founded on genocide and dispossession so they believe British and European Australians have no right to want to preserve and protect their unique two hundred year old culture. This is the fundamental problem with the left. They want to claim to be patriots but won’t ever touch migration - because their fundamental beliefs about Australian nationhood and culture are hostile to patriotism. Obviously you can’t claim to be a patriot if you simultaneously support migration policies that will make Australians into a minority in their own county. But they desperately want to win these voters back, so they make a lame effort to completely redefine patriotism to just mean “generic left wing positions that everybody on the left already supports.” So in their view, true patriotism means supporting Labor and the Greens. I will give you some examples of this cheap rhetorical trick. They claim: - Real patriots support a gas tax - Real patriots support diversity - Real patriots support modern™️ Australian culture (by which they just mean multiculturalism) - Real patriots oppose Israel (cool, this has been a lefty issue for 70 years) - Real patriots oppose Trump and AMERICA (cool, another lefty issue that has been a lefty issue forever) Notice this rhetorical move? They think they can just take ordinary lefty policies that every lefty already supports and wrap them in the flag to make them seem patrotic. Right now they see patriotism as dangerous - it’s a political threat to the powers that be. So they want to neuter it and make it politically harmless so that it can fit perfectly with the existing Labor Party platform. And I have nothing against a gas tax by the way, I actually want to tax foreign LNG exports at a much higher rate so that we can use the money for nation building projects. That said, let’s stop pretending the REAL PATRIOTS ARE THE GREENS because they want an LNG export tax. They don’t support it for patriotic reasons, they support it because they want wealth redistribution. Alongside wealth redistribution they also support massively altering the population composition of Australia by making Australians into a minority in their own country. This position is fundamentally irreconcilable with patriotism. So the next time you see a Labor hack or Greens hack claim to be a TRUE PATRIOT. Just ask them these two questions: Do you think Australia is “Stolen Land”? Do you oppose making Australians into a minority through mass migration? That’s it. Those are the only two questions that truly matter when it comes to assessing whether somebody is really a patriot that likes Australia.
