@LukeBarnett Been dealing with this a lot lately. Both in reading other people’s scripts, and having people read my own. It’s an interesting dynamic.

People also don't realize what a commitment reading a feature script is. Two hours of your life is very different than "watch my 5 minute short". Mix it with anyone working today having a stack of scripts -- scripts they HAVE to read, scripts they WANT to read from their friends or colleagues, etc. I've had a few instances recently where people have asked if I'd read a script for various reasons and then been put off when I very politely told them I just didn't have the bandwidth to read something that isn't a work opportunity or from a friend/colleague. No one owes you a read.
Tom Vaughan@storyandplot

No one owes you a read. If they do agree to read your screenplay, they don't owe it to you to finish. Your concept has to make them want to start, and your screenwriting has to earn the rest. The burden is on you. Not them. So embrace it.

Margarita Levieva has revealed that Buck and Heather were supposed to kiss in Episode 6 of ‘DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN’ Season 2. “I was like, ‘Can we find another way to do that?’ Like, there’s a smarter way to let all that feeling out, all that rage, all that sadness, all that pent-up aggression and get it out. Like, ‘Can we connect in a way that shows the chemistry, the sparks, without actually kissing?’ And I just watched that and I was like, ‘Oh, it actually works.’” (Via: youtu.be/n6fp6Ni1OQQ?si…)

@qLxke_ I want a prequel. There’s so much to tell about Longlegs. But I’d also be down with another story and he’s pulling the strings from Hell or some shit.

He wasn't masturbating. What actually happened to his body is significantly worse than any joke. When the fourth pyroclastic surge hit Pompeii, it arrived at 300°C. That's 572°F. The thermal human survival threshold is 200°C. This man died in a fraction of a second. His brain stopped before a single pain signal completed its circuit. What you're looking at is cadaveric spasm. It's a rare form of instant muscular stiffening that only occurs during sudden violent death by extreme heat. The 300°C surge cooked the proteins in his muscle fibers so fast that his body locked into whatever position it was in at the exact moment of impact. Arms, legs, fingers, toes all contracted simultaneously. 73% of Pompeii's victims were found frozen in "life-like" stances mid-action. Running. Crawling. Shielding children. This man was probably just lying down. The flexed limb position you're laughing at appears in nearly every Pompeii body. It's called the pugilistic attitude. Heat shrinks tendons faster than bone, curling arms and legs inward. Boxers after a fire look the same way. The position has zero connection to what the person was doing. Pure thermodynamics. For centuries, archaeologists assumed these people suffocated on ash. A 2010 study proved they were wrong. Researchers heated modern human bone samples to various temperatures, compared them to Pompeii victims, and found the color and cracking patterns matched exposure to 250-300°C. Death was instantaneous. There was "no time to suffocate." This isn't even his body. It's a plaster cast of the void he left behind. His flesh decomposed inside the hardened volcanic ash. In 1863, Giuseppe Fiorelli poured liquid plaster into the hollow cavity. What you see is the shape of absence. 9.4 million people looked at a man who was incinerated alive in a quarter-second and the main reaction was a punchline. The science of how he actually died is one of the most disturbing findings in modern archaeology.

There is only one person who can play Aragorn and that is Viggo Mortensen. If he declined to return then Andy Serkis should have take the character out of the script out of respect. There is no Aragorn without Viggo. I find it incredibly disrespectful that Andy would choose to recast the character when it’s clear Viggo has so much love for Aragorn and the LOTR series. The reason fans love the character so much is because of the passion Viggo put into his performance. Aragorn is one of the best written characters in movie history and that is largely due to Viggo and the care he put into making sure he was doing Tolkien justice. His performance is something that cannot be recreated or replaced. I already had a bad feeling about this project after Andy Serkis said his production company would be creating AI characters. It’s a shame when so much of the LOTRs success revolved around the incredible work that the VFX artists did to bring Gollum to life. I have a feeling that had to do with Viggo declining to come back. Andy Serkis is a very talented guy so it’s a shame to see him go down this route.

Aragorn is officially being recast for ‘THE LORD OF THE RINGS - THE HUNT FOR GOLLUM’. Viggo Mortensen will not return. (Source: screenrant.com/aragorn-recast…)
