Pete Buttigieg is an extremely talented politician. He’s served in the military service, he’s articulate, and understands policy inside and out. Revolutionary War to the Civil War. Civil War to the Great Depression and World War II. We’re 80 years out again and we’ve lost the generational memory of why the institutions and processes matter. Trump is actually helping us rediscover that, not intentionally, but by doing the opposite of everything that’s right so aggressively that people instinctively know something is deeply wrong. The approval ratings, the election results, they’re all telling the same story. He’s forcing a moral and cultural reckoning on this country.
