Just a regular guy who loves Jesus

I met my wife while I was engaged to another woman.
It was on a yacht in Croatia.
“Business trip” fund raiser with 30 of Nashville's highest level entrepreneurs.
We were among the youngest, our mentors insisted we tag along to learn and level up.
We had no clue that what took place on that yacht would lead to the end of an 8 year relationship, 14 months of long distance dating, or a marriage and now a beautiful 9 month old baby.
Here’s what happened.
My ex-fiancée and I's relationship was teetering on the edge of a prolonged collapse
On the surface everything was hunky dory.
High school sweethearts.
The wedding was paid for.
We had our lives figured out.
But, we were misaligned on fundamental values.
We voted differently.
We believed differently.
We even valued health and wealth differently.
And that misalignment was tearing us apart.
I thought I was doing the noble thing, sticking with someone who was out of alignment with who God made me to be.
I valued sustaining prolonged suffering.
Got my identity from doing hard things - and that relationship was one of them.
But, here’s the truth.
My “noble suffering” - was killing her.
I created confusion and insecurity while she was in the process of discovering her identity.
My pride was killing the person I loved.
We invested thousands of dollars into relationship retreats and counseling (none of which were Christian btw).
All to no avail.
Things only got worse.
And so, the day I left for Croatia, we had just finished a brutal argument about who knows what, and something felt unsettled.
I was on a plane-- alone, flying across the ocean with this feeling in my gut that my life would be different when I got back home.
My fiance had basically gone radio silent, so I took the opportunity to reflect on my own.
Finally, I arrive in Split, Croatia, board this beautiful mega yacht, make my rounds introducing myself to the group, settle into my cabin, have dinner, and get myself a good night's sleep after a long day of travel.
And the very next morning, I saw my wife for the first time.
Now, this wasn’t a hallmark movie moment where we lock eyes from across a room and instantly fall in love.
No - my guard was up.
I was engaged.
In fact, I made it a point to specifically avoid the (very hot) younger woman on the boat.
I had my boundaries.
Nonetheless, when I first saw her, it was 6:00 am on the deck on the yacht. I had gone up to hit a morning workout, thinking surely no one else would be up at that time.
But there she was.
Doing handstands behind the bar.
I noticed her clearly fit, very hot body, quickly averted my eyes, and walked across the deck over to the dumbbells.
But then, something happened.
While I was training, she waltzed right over to me, pointed out my calves, and asked “How do you train your calves to get them so jacked?”
I proceeded to give her the most scientifically articulate, unromantic answer possible in order to make it clear that I was not available - and it worked.
The conversation ended promptly and we went our separate ways.
But then my entire life began to shift.
After this initial interaction with my *now wife*, we had a “mindset session” at the back of the yacht that essentially prompted us to consider the promises God had for our lives.
I thought through my business goals, primarily - and got radically clear on my mission, and what I felt like God had for my life.
And in that process of considering what God had for my life, it was the first time in 8 years that I had ever allowed myself to imagine life with someone else.
I wasn’t picturing my *now wife*.
But I had shifted from this place of accepting unnecessary suffering, to truly operating from vision.
Instead of thinking “I can make it through this.”
I started thinking “What does God want for me?”
And the possibilities began to open up.
Now, before we continue, if you’ve made it this far - I want you to hone in on one crucial lesson:
Stop making decisions from a place of unnecessary suffering.
And start making decisions from a place of what God wants for your life.
This isn’t fake Christian self help garbage.
This is the nature of Christ.
I am NOT saying avoid suffering.
You WILL suffer.
You must LEARN to suffer well, without numbing yourself, without your faith in God fading, without your identity being corrupted.
BUT - there is no nobility in unnecessary suffering.
Jesus did not suffer unnecessarily.
Jesus suffered from a place of desire, to glorify God (himself) and to spend eternity with his people.
Ephesians 1:5:
“he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—”
Jesus was willing to suffer HONORABLY, because he WANTED to glorify God (himself) and he WANTED his people.
John 17:24:
24 “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.
He wasn’t suffering from a place of compulsion, lack, or need - but from a place of Godly desire.
Godly desire fuels unrivaled pain tolerance.
Godly Desire fuels consistent obedience.
Godly Desire empowers perseverance.
If you are in Christ, and in intimate relationship with him, through prayer, his word, the gathering of the saints, and through christian accountability, ask God “Lord, what do YOU want for me?”
Not what do “I” want for me?
What do you “YOU” want for me?
The cool thing is when you’re living by the spirit, submitted to Christ, your desires start to align with his.
Please be weary when you pray these prayers, the heart is deceitful (Jeremiah 17:9).
This is about God’s will.
Not yours.
Our will (apart from God) leads to destruction.
When it’s Godly desire, in alignment with God’s will, it radically energizes action that leads to fruitfulness, righteousness, and peace.
So, if this is resonating, remember:
No more slave mindset “I’ll just suck it up and accept this as is.”
Ask God: “What do YOU want for my life?”
Now, moving on.
My world began to shift.
I began to allow myself to consider what God wanted for my life and the vision was becoming radically clear.
Later, (2 days into the trip).
I had my first real conversation with my *now wife*.
We were eating lunch in a group.
And of course, when I first actually looked her in the eyes- I felt it deep in my soul.
The most beautiful creation I had ever seen.
A feeling which I promptly shoved deep down because, well, I was engaged.
Anyways, during that conversation I learned that my wife had actually also been previously engaged, which got my attention.
It prompted me to ask God why he presented me with this amazing, beautiful young woman - who had recently ended an engagement?
What was God trying to show me, or teach me from the presence of this woman?
So following that conversation, I continued to pray and contemplate.
Throughout the rest of the trip I put on fake smiles when people would ask if I was excited for my wedding.
All the while averting my eyes and only speaking to my *now wife* in group settings. (I have witnesses)
And after ~ 7 days of deep prayer and conversations, on the other side of the world, I had come to a place where I knew something had to change.
So, the trip ended. I flew home, and as soon as I arrived, my ex-fiance and I ended things.
It was beautiful, really.
We both knew it was time.
We said our goodbyes, and I felt like a piece of me had been amputated.
I broke down and wailed.
8 years of built up energy - released.
My neighbors probably thought someone had been murdered.
But after that release - I felt something I had never felt before.
Peace.
Perfect peace.
Shock.
Rawness.
Pain.
But peace knowing I had just made what seemed like an impossible decision that was in alignment with God’s will for my life.
In that moment I learned that happiness is not peace.
Happiness can be deceitful.
Happiness can keep you stuck.
The pursuit of happiness kept my ex-fiance and I stuck in that relationship.
But peace?
Peace is different.
Peace is a fruit of the Holy Spirit.
You get peace when you live by the spirit, even if it’s hard.
Then began the healing process, which was really just surrendering my wants to God's will, which deepened my relationship with God forever.
And, eventually energized radical action.
Including the pursuit of my wife, half way across the world - from Florida to Canada, long distance for 14 months.
That faith empowered obedience during our dating like never before in the area of purity (although we still struggled).
And, that faith energized us to submit our lives to God, truly considering what He wanted for us, not what felt like it would make us happy in a given moment.
That faith presented opportunities to know Him like never before (through struggle, perseverance, and breakthrough).
And of course, that faith resulted in blessings beyond what we could ask or imagine.
That trust in God’s will, it brought me my wife.
My best friend.
My indistinguishable helper.
That faith brought me my daughter, my perfect lovely daughter.
That faith, and all God did through it, it’s served as a monument for me to look back on in remembrance of God’s goodness.
A year and half of marriage.
A growing family.
Community in the Nashville area that strengthens our faith.
Alignment in our business that would not be possible without my indistinguishable helper.
All through faith in Christ, and His will for our lives.
So, if you’ve made it this far.
And there’s a part of your life where you’re currently living in unnecessary suffering, here’s my encouragement to you:
Ask God what HE wants for your life.
He is the perfect father.
He delights in your well being.
And his plan for you will GLORIFY Him and testify to his goodness.
There WILL be suffering.
But when you’re submitted to Him?
It IS all worth it.
Hope this blesses you.
- Gabe

@2loki4u @LibertyLockPod Saying “Iran & their proxies are a direct threat to Western Civilizations” is saying the Persians, no?
Along with that quote & an earlier reference to Arabs it sounds like those Muslims can’t be trusted so…
Yet I do appreciate the reply & sorry if I have you too bombastic.
English

Mad i didn't see this reply until just now.
At NO point did I EVER suggest "Persians" were a threat to Western Civilization -
Likewise I do NOT support nor have I suggested "ALL" Muslims should be wiped from the face of the earth. - That sorta thinking is the exact thinking of the Radical Sects of Islam that I oppose.
It is the position of the radicals in the Islamic World that THEY want to either convert, enslave or exterminate anyone they deem to not ascribe to their extremist views and orthodoxy. THEY are the ones who seek to bring a holocaust down on the earth such that the world will submit to Sharia Law.
As I have posted repeatedly -
*Caveat - this is NOT what ALL muslims believe - not all buy into the extremism that the IRGC and the Ayatollah or their proxies do/did. I am in no way condemning all Muslims as being the same - much in the same way I do not condemn all christians or jews to what I perceive to be the worst of their respective belief systems - there are "sects" of every religion - some with abhorrent beliefs that are antithetical and/or incompatible with the rest of society - every religion has them - the problem is when the most radical of any one has the power that this group does - something must be done about it. Especially when their calling is to exterminate all who oppose - something I am not aware of being mirrored in any Judeo-Christian religion - but as I am not a scholar nor am I arrogant enough to suggest none have or currently exist - I simply will say - "as far as I have studied or witnessed" in the past 100yrs or so.

Just a reminder that two months ago gas was $2.80 and the Strait was open. It is now $4.06 and we're firing on ships to keep it closed. People will look you dead in the eye and pretend this is a good thing.

BREAKING: The Pentagon has released footage of the US Navy OPENING FIRE on an Iranian-flagged cargo ship who IGNORED warnings to turn around over a six hour period “Motor vessel TOUSKA! Motor vessel TOUSKA! Vacate your engine room, vacate your engine room. We're prepared to subject you to DISABLING FIRE.” US Marines are now on board the ship.

@JoshuaLisec I voted for it but the stones you have to have when this administration might be as corrupt as it gets.

English

I voted specifically for this.
JD Vance@JDVance
Under President Trump, we are unleashing the most aggressive federal anti-fraud efforts in American history. We won't rest until we root out every bit of fraud infecting our government and screwing over taxpayers. More coming tomorrow. Stay tuned.

@timsoper @LibertyLockPod @DanaSusanne1 Please do check back! It will be a great discussion on how politics really work.
Republicans thought they would have a red wave in 2022 and that didn’t happen.
With redistricting Republicans gain advantage.
English

@A_Revelator @LibertyLockPod @DanaSusanne1 Republicans will lose both and I’ll check back in here to do a mental health check on you.
English

@LibertyLockPod @DanaSusanne1 There will be no annihilation in November. Republicans will hold the House and Senate. You will then realize Americans are much more resilient than you think.
Stop being a pussy!
English

@LibertyLockPod well he’s saving the world from nukes so why on earth would he consider the plight of american citizens
English

@StuffHappe6615 @LibertyLockPod The Dems will control both houses after the midterms. It will be a bloodbath
English

What will happen in the mid-terms is, Democrats will gain little to no ground. And, Trump’s approval rating will remain terrible. Because voters think both Democrats and Trump stink. Why Democrats think disappointed Trump voters will vote Democrat in any significant numbers in November just shows how delusional they are. Voters can signal their disapproval to both Democrats AND Trump. And, they will.
English

@haughian_marty @LibertyLockPod The GOP is gonna get crushed cause they deserve to get crushed. No fraud needed.
English

@LibertyLockPod If the GOP gets annihilated in November it'll be because the SAVE America act never got passed, and the democrats committed mass election fraud AGAIN
English

@LaneB7777 @LibertyLockPod You look too young to be a delusional boomer so how do you arrive at your opinion?
English

@LibertyLockPod You are not very good at this, he's thinking about our safety and you won't have to worry about finances or anything else if Iran got a nuke, they will use it.
People like you love to twist things, so sad on your part.
English

@cymianx @LibertyLockPod The economy IS NEGATIVELY impacting American lives.
English

@LibertyLockPod that’s not what he means dude.. the premise of the question implies that the economy is negatively impacting american lives
English

@recorderson @gummibear737 @Ashley88366 Hope it’s bigger brains than balls
Does your comment mean $5 gas isn’t an issue for you? I’m curious b/c many of those folks who scoff at gas prices would faint if the Dow went down 25%.
& finally, taking the gloves off means goodbye desalination plants in the GCC & Israel.
English

What do you think happens to the Iranians when we take off the kid gloves? We have largely laid off the dual use facilities. We could easily cut them off. We control the sky. We could add rail, every port, and their oil infrastructure to the list of targets. Sit back, suck it up while the cake bakes. It will cook there quicker. Hyperinflation and shortages makes for restless villagers. Regime change.
It’s an attrition game. Iran is praying that $5 gas breaks us first. Imagine China knowing that $5 gas can break the soft Americans. It hurts China as much as it does us, if not more. Who’s going to have the bigger balls? That’s who emerges in the pole position in the multipolar world being shaped now. This is long game America. Steel your constitution.

As Trump ponders what to do next with Iran…
I’m increasingly convinced that this will soon become the world's problem because I don't think the US can solve the Strait of Hormuz problem without committing US boots on the ground
Whatever momentum he had in pushing the remnants of the regime to negotiate a deal was completely lost with the cease-fire...and he deserves all the blame for that. What made this campaign different was the US/Israeli ability to decimate their leadership. If they had continued to do so, then it's possible that someone willing to cry uncle would eventual get into a leadership position...and maybe he thought that's what happened w/the first ceasefire, but he never re-calibrated after it became obvious that wasn't the case
Now, from a pragmatic point of view, Trump can continue the bombing for a few more weeks then say that his military operation has sufficiently degraded Iran…and then stop but stipulate that targeted attacks would resume if Iran restarted enrichment of uranium or ballistic missile production
In terms of American interests, Trump doesn't have to open the Strait of Hormuz because he's not the one who's holding it hostage. The world can blame the US/Trump, but Iran has agency in this...and this is not an act of aggression against the US...it's an illegal act against its neighbors and the world
From a reputational point of view, this is a disaster for the United States...that's fine. But world leaders have not done themselves any favors by blaming America for Iranian geo-terrorism
The US and Israel set out to significantly degrade Iran's missile, drone and nuclear programs (and proxies) and they've mostly done this. And if Trump doesn't believe he's likely to secure any kind of deal via further air-power then he may just call it a "Victory like nobody's ever seen before" and walk away
And if the world thinks the status quo is bad, just wait until the US forces them to deal with the problem on their own. They've spent months legitimizing Iran's geo-terrorism because they hate Trump...but good luck dealing with an eschatological death cult without the backing of the US military
The GCC has already threatened to stop all hydrocarbon exports (not just via Hormuz) if the world doesn't step up and enforce international law...and I believe they would do that because Iran holding the Strait of Hormuz is an intolerable status quo that borders on being a existential risk
I think world leaders should look to figure out a way to work towards reopening the Strait of Hormuz in concert with Trump and the US. A military solution will take longer to agree on, but in the short term the rhetoric must change dramatically from around the world so that Iran realizes that they're isolated and alone
The only place where Iran is winning is in believing they have the will to outlast the US...but maybe they won't be so sure if it's the world that's against them
Also, this is where Trump's unwise rhetoric surrounding Greenland and their allies is coming back to bite him. The US is strong militarily, but when you are talking about winning a war of will then there is strength in numbers
But don't cut off your nose to spite your face...don't let your dislike of Trump warp what many see as a first principle in western civilization...
Look...the objective of Iran not having a nuclear weapon is not going stop, and if this campaign needs to happen again in 3 years or 5 years or 10 years then it will and we'll be back in the same place
Better for the world to get it's act together now...because they've done their best to enable Iran's behavior even if it's not in their long term interests. Don’t let personal or partisan dislike of Trump distort a hard strategic reality that predates him and will outlast him
English

@gummibear737 Then please tell me that Mike Huckabee has no influence over nuclear weapon use.
English

@Gabepluguez Definitely not yankin your chain.
Jesus is 100% non-violence & I believe He intended for us to take that seriously. But as I’m a fallen man, when put to the test, I would choose violence if need be & I’m guessing Jesus knows this.
So the least I could do is wrestle with it.
English

@timsoper You want me to WRESTLE with this
You’ve got to be yankin my chain!
Lol God bless man!
English

Why Christian men should be capable of violence:
Gabe Pluguez@Gabepluguez
My opinion of the death sentence has changed after having a daughter.
English

@Gabepluguez Sorry for the late reply.
I get the instinct to turn to violence. It’s an instinct I share & would resort to in order to protect my loved ones.
But none of it, not 1%, is Christian.
As a fellow Christian, I’d encourage you to wrestle with that.

@InfiniteOrigen @nikoliasgoninus @Cernovich I love your panache…
“All religions are just an interpretation of UFT which just happens to be my favorite religion.”
The odds of that coincidence just have to astronomical 😎 That’s just mind blowing 🤯
English

@timsoper @nikoliasgoninus @Cernovich All religions are merely different cultural interpretations of a single original truth. That truth is known as Unified Field Theorem, which has been in certain human hands since before recorded history. This is the genuine explanation behind all of the ancient myths.
English

@nikoliasgoninus @Cernovich Still I owe a serious response:
I put gas in my car. If it goes from Pt. A to Pt. B, I don’t think about the gas. I just drive my car. If you were to prove to me I’ve been putting 7-Up in my gas tank the whole time, that’d be crazy…but I’d still just drive my car.
Make sense?
English

@nikoliasgoninus @Cernovich Wow! You nailed it! 😆
But seriously, humor me on how you’ve moved beyond your artificial boundaries.
I’m hoping🤞🤞🤞dare I say, praying 🙏 🙏 🙏 that your story does not disappoint.
English

@nikoliasgoninus @Cernovich That’s fuckin hilarious this young whipper snapper blocked me.
