@FarCanals As for local reporters in Kosovo, we may have worked with outdated computers and we were lucky if we had a tape recorder, but we had unmatched courage ❤️

@FarCanals Thanks for sharing this, Aidan, I've never seen this book before. As a "local reporter" it doesn't make me angry, it makes me sad. Fortunately most of the foreign reporters who covered Kosovo were nothing like this; they cared deeply.

Long past being shocked by foreign journalist's lazy racism when it comes to #Kosovo - and the "savage Balkans" generally - but was particularly struck by this. When the war was actually raging this guy laments that local journalists didn't have any "sex appeal".

Few imagined in 2015 this moment when, under the leadership of President Jahjaga, we started the process of qualifying Kosovo to become eligible for MCC funding. Today this partnership is a stamp of approval: Kosovo is primed for foreign investment. 🇽🇰🇺🇸
