Jesus addressed abortion in Exodus 21:22-25, which makes it clear that unborn children are alive and those who take their lives deserve punishment
James Talarico can’t comprehend that the Jesus of the New Testament is the same God who inspired the Old Testament
Marco Foster@MarcoFoster_
James Talarico on abortion: “I trust Texas women to make decisions about their own bodies, to shape their own destinies. I don’t believe that’s a place for government. That’s a belief I hold not despite my faith, but because of my faith. Jesus never talks about abortion. The Bible is silent on abortion”
English

@Magnus_9_IOI @GigaBasedDad Jesus appears in the bible only if you interpret the passages a certian way. Its not about being wrong its about what religion you happened to be indoctrinated into
English

@MartinTweats The idea that the Hebrew bible is talking about jesus is faith based, you have to assume at least some univocality which isnt born out in the text.
English

Your point being?
𝕊𝕜𝕖𝕝𝕖𝕥𝕠𝕟𝕂𝕖𝕪@Skeletonkey5555
The name "jesus" does not appear in the Old Testament.
English

@thoughts17181 @DW2025X I see why people have been blocking you lol
English

@DW2025X Bro there's nothing like that and you're proving my point
If you're in for an argument then fine. You guys on the fact that we've been deceived for 2000 years what more do we want to argue if not coming back to Christianity and God
If you can't tell me why then bye
English

@wesley1631128 @NBrasing @zarnithvalen @big_danny22 Exodus. Im starting to think you are just playing dumb or simply are. Im not going to keep citing the same shit for you to claim it means something completely different from what the majority of scolarship agrees on.
English

@tipacole @NBrasing @zarnithvalen @big_danny22 Show me where they were beating them and killing them.
English

Exactly where He has always been
On His throne watching humans use their free will
Zoom Afrika@zoomafrika1
Where was GOD during slavery in Africa ?
English

@wesley1631128 @NBrasing @zarnithvalen @big_danny22 The verses I mentioned wouldn't make sense for a mere worker or servant. They are being treated like slaves. Reguardless of what label you use.
English

@tipacole @NBrasing @zarnithvalen @big_danny22 You seem more open minded than the other guy, I'm glad. What they most likely meant is workers, as back then there wasn't such companies and establishment to work in, the only way to survive is being a seller a servant yknow what I mean
English

@wesley1631128 @NBrasing @zarnithvalen @big_danny22 Yes but that doesnt mean we cant know what they most likely ment. And it was most likely a term to refer to slaves. A reason for which I just stated.
English

@tipacole @NBrasing @zarnithvalen @big_danny22 That's not the argument, the argument is if God commanded It or not, and the word used is a word used for not only slaves but also maids and male workers.
English

@wesley1631128 @NBrasing @zarnithvalen @big_danny22 This is a nothing argument. Scolarship is pretty unanimously agreeded upon that these were slave slaves. Not simply servants otherwise the laws in Exodus wouldnt give specific instructions about how much you can beat them untill you get in trouble.
English

@NBrasing @tipacole @zarnithvalen @big_danny22 Check the words used in hebrew you'll see that he didn't mean those kinda slaves, more like servants or workers.
So it's just the translation.

English

@wesley1631128 @zarnithvalen @big_danny22 Did you purposely ignore what I said because everything you JUST said was adressed in the reply you responded to. It does condone it. The bible only condems the enslavement of isrealite slaves while condoning foreign ones. Read your bible man.
English

@tipacole @zarnithvalen @big_danny22 Listen to yourself, the bible never condones slavery and you know that, and just cause God never explicitly Condem it doesn't mean he condones it.
If he condones it he wouldn't have freed his children from the captivity of Pharoah
English

THE EXECUTIONER’S PROBLEM
SHOCKING FACT: Why didn’t the Romans just produce the body?
The easiest way for the Roman Empire and the Jewish Sanhedrin to crush Christianity in 33 AD was simple: produce the corpse of Jesus.
The tomb was sealed with a Roman stamp. It was guarded by an elite squad of soldiers. Yet, weeks later, the Apostles were preaching the Resurrection in the exact same city where Jesus was killed. The authorities used bribes, beatings, and executions to stop them but they never produced the body.
Because the tomb was empty.
Drop a 🔥 if you serve a living King!

English

@wesley1631128 @zarnithvalen @big_danny22 His answer would only be condemning slavery for isrealite slaves not, foreigners which the bible explicitly states is okay. The rest is just a non sequitur. Just because the bible includes bad things doesnt mean it condones them. But it DOES condone slavery
English

@zarnithvalen @big_danny22 So question what do you want the slaves to do?? Kill the masters?? Fight them?? What
English

No. You have a probabilistic inference that he will go splat, based on induction from prior probability.
Theists are wont to remind everyone that Induction is not knowledge with a guarantee of certainty.
People have survived falling out of airplanes at cruising altitude.
If you have infallible foreknowledge that Geronimo will die from his fall, then you have causally foreclosed on his possibility of surviving. You have sealed shut the doors leading to infinite potential universes in which Geronimo walks away from his fall.
English

Foreknowledge of an event is not causation of the event.
If I see someone jump off a cliff, then I have the foreknowledge that they'll go splat when they hit the ground.
My foreknowledge of that event is not causation of that event.

English

@RshFn2112 @Muntu87 @Skwerilleee @TheAKGuy Why do yall insist on sounding like 5th graders who got a lil too offended
English

@Muntu87 @Skwerilleee @TheAKGuy The greater good would entail you & your ilk taking a long walk of a short pier.
That said, I got your greater good swinging right between my piers!
