In the 3rd and 4th centuries Christian authors had to explain in their writings why women and slaves should have an equal place in the afterlife to emperors and men. The claim that contemporary Western ethics are just universal inclinations is evidently false.

The reason why the online “debate me bro” culture is steadily dying isn’t that debating itself is dead or pointless but rather that debates themselves never get anywhere unless both participants have a shared set of presuppositions. Online debates don’t work anymore because the debate itself always seems to be over first principles, even as we market them to be over “facts”. At some point you must start with an axiom that isn’t up for debate, and if nether party agrees on what that axiom should be, debating solves nothing. It’s all so tiresome to watch. Almost every “debate” nowadays is just an attempt to expose the other guy to be an idiot, but only within the moral or philosophical framework of the other contestant. And this is only going to get worse. As the pre-rational social bonds that once held society together are steadily dismantled in the name of progress, we will find it increasingly difficult to talk to one another in any setting, let alone a debate.

Calling Jesus a "Muslim" is like calling Julius Caesar a Roman Catholic. It is a massive, embarrassing historical anachronism. ​Jesus was a 1st-century, Torah-observant, Temple-worshipping Jew. He celebrated Passover, was circumcised on the eighth day, and taught in the synagogues. If He "submitted to God," He submitted to Yahweh the God of Israel who revealed Himself in the Hebrew Scriptures, not the deity of a 7th-century Arab merchant. ​You are trying to retroactively colonize historical Jewish prophets into a religion that didn't exist until 600 years after Christ. If your religion is the "oldest," why does it require a 7th-century book, a 7th-century prophet, and 9th-century Hadiths to even function?

Our administration owes a debt of gratitude to Nick Shirley for exposing one of the most egregious cases of fraud this country has ever seen. If the media was worth their salt, they would take notes from Nick and other citizen journalists who care about investigating stories that affect the American people instead of trying to silence them.

You're very wrong. You can disagree with the pro-life position, but it's simply false to claim it's purely religious. My view has nothing to do with religion. It's based on biology and ethics. Biologically, fertilization creates a new, living human organism with its own unique DNA. That's a question of developmental biology, not theology. The real disagreement isn't about whether the embryo is biologically human. It's about if ALL human life deserves legal and moral protection, or just arbatrary classes of it. That's a philosophical and ethical question, not a religious one. My position is that human beings shouldn't lose the right not to be intentionally killed because of characteristics like age, size, level of development, dependency, or location. I don't see a principled way to say those traits determine whether someone's life has value. You can disagree with that conclusion, but calling it "just religion" ignores that many people arrive at it through science, ethics, and secular moral reasoning. I'll even go further and say that as a Christian, the spiritual reasoning against abortion is actually WEAKER than the secular and scientific reasoning.

I love explaining 40k things to people that have zero clue what the setting is. My boss and I had a fun talk about what needs doing and efficiency and effort came up. I told him we have the solution just not the technology.
