Lovely to visit Wilkin & Sons @tiptree fruit farm and jam factory in Essex, celebrating 140 years of jam making! 🍓🍊🇬🇧 Wilkin & Sons has been supplying excellent products to 🇯🇵 market for over 40 years and captivating so many Japanese fans, myself included! 📷©Paul Starr

The visit had been initiated by @pritipatel who joined the guests for a tour of the farm, and factory with a discussion over Afternoon Tea about the friendship and enduring ties between our countries. We are proud to have been exporting Tiptree preserves to Japan for 40 years.

It was an honour to welcome The Japanese Ambassador His Excellency Hiroshi Suzuki @AmbJapanUK accompanied by Mr Teruyuki Ando to Tiptree yesterday.

Fantastic to be at @tiptree for @AmbJapanUK visiting to see the production of the very best jams and food. It was great to discuss the enduring ties between our countries and how we can export more to Japan 🇬🇧🇯🇵

Today we celebrate #NationalCreamTeaDay And the key is not too much spreading 🙃 Put a good dollop of clotted cream on the scone and just lightly press it down to make a platform for the jam, then spoon the jam on top and tuck in. #CreamFirst it's the only way.

We received our first Royal Warrant from George V in 1911 and each subsequent monarch has continued the tradition.

Walter Scott, Chairman of Wilkin and Sons and Grantee, said “We are honoured and proud that His Majesty has granted us his Warrant. Every member of staff understands the importance of this and we are delighted to continue this tradition.”
