Just learned that TPUSA will be hosting an event on UW campus featuring detransitioner and anti-trans activist Chloe Cole on Wednesday.
This is an ugly look for the University of Washington right now, and I'm so disappointed in my school.

friend lives in the housing complex. the door to where she was killed was supposed to be secure, but it was broken for months and could not be closed.

as an autistic who desperately wants to be understood so over explains and gives too many details and talks too much for the comfort of others, it feels detrimental and gutwrenching when someone says "you don't have to say all that, i get it." but then. just. doesn't get it.

it’s time for my weekly neurodivergent isn’t a synonym for autism and autism does in fact indicate difficulties with detecting social cues no matter how you spin it! we miss the sincere social cues too! let’s also not erase more severe cases of autism!

Hot take: Neurodivergent ppl do get social cues, they just get confused by INAUTHENTIC social cues Society is full of fake smiles and small talk that make no sense I can see your soul is in pain boo, I can't in good conscience be comfortable as you tell me about the weather!

it’s interesting that talking about fear, pain and trauma around pap smears is called fearmongering, but responding with “cervical cancer is worse” and graphic cancer-treatment examples is not. fear isn't the solution for any of these issues!

hi, medical and women's historian here: women's fear of pap smears, as well as their fear of vaginal exams, is beyond reasonable. gynecology has been rife with misogyny for centuries, the "father of modern gynecology" practiced on slaves w/o anesthesia. don't ridicule other women

@tiredslim i have a great doctor too and a great endo surgeon and it just makes me so sad to read the experiences others have had with smears 💔 but sadly, it's not the norm to have great obgyns 😵💫

@mastermindess Obviously not all drs are like this, but your friends can be your patient advocate!! You don’t have to goto the drs alone!

@mastermindess When my friends were scared I brought it up with my dr and got the suggestion of “you can recommend they come here and you could come with them if you’d like.” Truth is it’s a scary experience and you have options to help make it more comfortable!!!
