2023, I missed my convocation. I missed my induction. I don’t have a single group picture with my lecturers or the people I graduated with. I couldn’t go for NYSC I didn't celebrate anything I couldn't afford it. I’ve never really “done life” the way people assume. I didn’t go on my first date until this year never been to the beach, never been to the cinema, never really had fun. Everyone looks at me when I say these things. Before that, a lady once offered to take me out because I told her I had never experienced it. She didn’t mind paying I even said I don't have money to come down to the island, she said she will order an uber. I felt uncomfortable, worried, even scared. I chickened out and said no I felt like a useless man, I couldn't afford shit. Not because I didn’t want to go, but because something about it just reminded me of where I was financially. Then this February, I finally went on my first date. I paid for everything. Spent money I normally wouldn’t. So when people say “men should stop faking maturity and celebrate themselves,” it sounds nice, but it’s not the full picture. A lot of guys are not avoiding joy. We just don’t have the leverage for it. Most men in Nigeria are broke. That’s the reality. Not lazy, not unwilling, just financially constrained. We miss moments, not because we don’t care, but because we can’t afford to show up for them. This might be the 1st year I’ll actually celebrate my birthday the way I want, and I’m doing it properly. I’ll go out, hit the beach, enjoy myself this time. Not because I suddenly became a different person, but because I finally can. I also celebrated Valentine's Day for the first time. Documenting everything is fun when you have money to pay for it. A lot of us want to celebrate with friends and family. We want those memories. We want to show up fully. But poverty quietly takes those moments away and replaces them with survival. That’s why I’ve always tried to position myself to help people break out of it. Because poverty is deeper than money. It steals experiences, confidence, and even the ability to enjoy life. God bless the women, that came into my life 😭😭 I can finally say afford to do things.

Boys, this fake maturity on birthdays has to stop . Celebrate yourself you’re not a cockroach. Post yourself, let us wish you abeg.

design tip most ppl ignore: if the experience is broken, no visuals will save it. that’s the difference between something that looks good and something people actually use. when you're ship with bad UI and bad UX users won’t come back.

Linkedin is one of those places you can quietly make upto $200k as a freelancer. This was the exact prompt I used to optimise my LinkedIn for better visibility. Copy and paste, REPOST to help others. Act as a top 1% LinkedIn growth strategist who has scaled personal brands from 5K to 100K+ followers without ads. Your task is to rebuild my LinkedIn profile for visibility, authority, and inbound opportunities, not job-seeking. Context about me: •Role / niche: [UX Designer / Tech / Founder / etc.] •Years of experience: [X] •Target audience: [founders, recruiters, designers, PMs, etc.] •What I want to be known for: [be specific] •Offers or opportunities I want inbound: [roles, consulting, speaking, partnerships] •Current follower count: [X] What I want you to do: 1.Rewrite my headline (220 characters max) •Outcome-driven •No buzzwords •Clear value + positioning •Sounds human, not corporate 2.Rewrite my About section using this structure: •Hook (first 2 lines must stop the scroll) •Credibility without sounding boastful •Clear narrative of what I do + why it matters •Who I help + how •Soft CTA (no begging) 3.Optimize my Experience section •Turn responsibilities into impact •Use metrics, outcomes, and decisions •Remove anything that weakens authority 4.Create a Featured section strategy •What to pin •What format works best (post, PDF, link, case study) •Why each item builds trust 5.Suggest 5 authority-building posts I should publish in the next 14 days •Each with a strong hook •Clear angle •Designed to attract my target audience Rules: •Do NOT use generic LinkedIn phrases •Do NOT sound like an AI or recruiter •Write in a confident, calm, human tone •Prioritize clarity over cleverness •Everything must be skimmable on mobile Output format: •Headline (3 variations) •About section (final version) •Experience rewrite (bullet format) •Featured section plan •5 post ideas with hooks N/B: add your LinkedIn profile link to this prompt then make sure your profile is in public mode so chat gpt can access your profile. Keep the fire burning 🔥

There is one thing I would never recommend: spending all your time learning Figma. Let me explain this better. A while ago, a guy messaged me on WhatsApp. He said he got my number from one of my YouTube videos. He told me he had been a UX designer for three years, but no one had ever paid him to do any design work. I told him there were only two possible reasons. Either he had been very inconsistent, or he had spent those 3 years learning Figma. He admitted it was both. This was his usual pattern. Anytime he saw a friend get a job as a project manager, he would switch to PM. He would spend 3 - 4 months taking courses, then go for interviews. If he failed one, he took it as a sign that the path was not for him. Within 3 years, he had touched five different tech roles. This is very common with most immigrants trying to get into tech. This is the tech skill paying more, you jump in. Oh is not this one again, here are 5 tech skill that will pay you to sleep. You jump on it. All those aspire to megwaire to papaya. I won’t even tell you to “stay consistent.” At age 30 and 35, you have to learn how to start something and stay with it regardless of the outcome. Most freelancers don’t jump from pillar to post when they can’t get another gig after 3months. They stay in one lane, keep driving, and trust that anything capable of making you $20 today can also make you $100k if you stay long enough and play it strategically. Figma won’t save you from indecision. Knowing how to use it won’t even make you a ux designer either. Kwechiri… Onye kwe chiya ekwe (ask your Igbo friend the meaning).

I blocked my UBA debit card today. The reason was simple— I started getting untraceable, unfamiliar debits with "web purchase" as description. Do you know how these debits come? The moment I use the card to make an online purchase (like when I renewed my Canva yearly plan), almost immediately, another untraceable debit will happen. Untraceable because you can't find it in my purchase history nor anywhere at all. Happened a few times but today's own was different. I didn't purchase anything online. I simply paid for my spa session using POS, and immediately the debit came in, another one followed, with description, "web purchase, Harcourt Road, Dublin." And that's another weird detail—these debits always have foreign address. And so I said enough, called UBA and blocked everything. Guys, be safe out there.
