@BlackPantherCap Don’t underestimate how much harder it gets to trade with large amounts of $ too. Easy to throw $10k at Oklo when you’re making $20k a month. Very different to put $1-$2m in a group of high beta stocks when something random can happen any time of the day/week. Mentally different

How much would you need to quit your job and do investing full-time? I’ll start $2M. It’s doable to reach the next 5 years. But will require I end each years above 85% YTD. Whats your target? -BP

@BlackPantherCap Do you have healthcare through a spouse? If not that’s $24k a year for a family. Do you have teenage kids? Sports run $10-20k a year per kid. Make sure you do a realistic budget for where you want your life to be and consider cap gains taxes (30%). Consider 2022 scenarios too.

General sense from my timeline today is there’s still a lot of bear PTSD built up in this market. Just a sentiment gauge from my own observations. High-beta growth names that got hammered over the past month are ripping today, while the major indices continue trading near their highs and many growth stocks remain heavily discounted. Maybe we stay in a chop-heavy market for a while longer, but if you’re patient and pick your spots, there are plenty of attractive long trades and accumulation opportunities across multiple sectors.

@jrouldz One can also build up amazing wealth in a 401k or IRA and trade the heck out of it tax free - easy to go to high cash when appropriate for the market or a stock and get back in at a pullback. Secret is maxing out 401k contributions and Roth while you’re young with low income.

To be a successful long term investor, you need to be in a position where you are ready to buy any dip any time. Doing this requires both steady surplus income relative to living expenses, and discipline If you find yourself saying "I want to buy this dip but I've got no dry powder left" - then you are not positioned for long term success as an investor yet. You must always be ready. I don't do aggressive bulk buys unless broad markets are in serious pain. The last time I did that was April 2025. These days, gradual DCA is my thing. My dividend income covers most buying, and if I want to buy extra juicy dips, I take some profits on high flyers, or out of dividend principal to raise capital 🤝

Could someone please remind me which asset class is still sitting near higher-timeframe lows, has largely missed this bull market, and just so happens to be one of the most interest rate- and inflation-sensitive? Now inflation comes in softer than expected, sentiment is about as bad as I’ve ever seen, and the overwhelming consensus is still “lower later this year.” Reminds me of when everyone was calling for way lower prices for indices back in early April….and we know how that ended.

@StonkChris There was a gap on the QQQ that was crucial to fill. Very bullish sign that it did.

In a chop hell market, give me a gap down to work with over a gap up any day. It’s much easier to trade from the long side when the market starts the session on the back foot. Fear creates opportunity, while gap-ups in choppy conditions too often end up fading or whipsawing traders.

Tesla FSD V14.3.5 has just started rolling out. One new feature: You can now open Camera Preview at any time, even if your Tesla is not in Park. Downloading it on my Model Y right now.

@jfredz5 @jrouldz The only way to do it is to look at it like a business- sometimes there are expenses, like buying back, but track income weekly over time to see your P/L. I don’t want to lose shares for tax reasons so I have to buy back occasionally and you have to manage it carefully daily.

Noticing a striking similarity on these 3 charts $PLTR $NFLX $META I hate to say it, considering I own 2/3 of these (no NFLX), but it looks like they may want to grind through the rest of the year 🫣 Maybe a good DCA opportunity for those that love them long?

@jfredz5 @jrouldz Hi Cristian, I sell CC weekly . It’s been a learning curve and I have struggled to find experts too. I sell 10% OTM weekly on lower beta stocks and 15% on high beta unless something is very down in which case it’s too risky. I buy out if I need to keep my shares. LMK ??s.
