Signal issues on BL are now a recurring morning issue. Hope this can be permanently fixed without another full shutdown.

@Metrorailinfo I see an alert for delays on BOS towards New Carrollton and Largo. Why has a SL to Ashburn been sitting on the platform at McPherson? Three trains have come going to NC/Largo. Are there delays in both directions?

@wmata Yep. I saw those alerts. But the train operator announced a down circuit as one of this mornings issues.

@tkblueline Hi. Blue Line trains experienced delays this morning due to a switch problem outside Stadium-Armory and a train with a mechanical problem at Pentagon City. Normal service has resumed at both stations. You can track trains in real time and see alerts 👉 wmata.com/metropulse -MG

Train op apologizing for delays “There’s been a lot going on on the rails this morning.” Yeah. Feels like it’s been that way for a week. I assume the downed circuit ahead was just outside of Franconia since we randomly stopped. But no alerts re: circuits from #wmata

@Metrorailinfo Yes. I’m aware. More communication from train ops would be appreciated. Also the BL trains are showing they terminate at Arlington Cem which is no longer the case. PID’s at King St show the same.

Hey @Metrorailinfo I know it’s been a busy morning, but why is my inbound BL train stuck outside the ALX rail yard? It was announced we were accommodating personnel per usual but we never stop this long. No announcements #wmata

There was initial confusion between @wmata and @OUC_DC this morning over where the fire was located. The primary station was switched from Farragut West to Foggy Bottom mid-dispatch. The train operator first reporting the fire indicated it was Farragut West at 6:13 a.m. OUC initially dispatched that information at 6:19 a.m. The station was changed to Foggy Bottom at 6:21, eight minutes after the initial report. @dcfireems made sure both stations were covered. Early information is that the fire involved electrical components burning in the tunnel. @rachelweinerwp @AdamTuss @tomroussey7news

@Metrorailinfo are the shuttle busses supposed to offload on the access road and not at the bus stops at Franconia? During all other shutdowns they have offloaded at dedicated bus stops. #wmata

NEW: Today the Washington Metrorail Safety Commission revealed that since Metro started using Automatic Train Operation on the Red Line in December, trains have overrun Red Line platforms 221 times! WMSC says it won't allow #wmata to start ATO on other lines until things improve.

Maybe we’ll finally get back to pre-pandemic headways on the BL
