Today, I met with the Kentucky Sheriffs’ Association and the Kentucky Narcotics Officers Association. With some of Kentucky’s finest by my side, I signed an original copy the Chief Herbert D. Proffitt Act. This law honors Chief Proffitt, the retired Sheriff of Tompkinsville who was killed by a criminal he put away years earlier. President Trump signed the Proffitt Act into law to ensure retired officers killed or disabled in connection to their service receive federal benefits. We will ALWAYS back the blue.
