While obviously including the horrific scandal Penn State had in the early 2000s (2012-2014) heres how it lines up even with that timeframe included: Virginia Tech: - Four ACC Championships - BCS Natty Appearance - One NY6 win (2009) - 0 Playoff wins - 7 10 Win Seasons - Lost 14 of last 23 bowl games with several being by 17+ (awesome streak) Including exciting bowl games such as The Belk Bowl, Sun Bowl, Gator Bowl, and Russel Athletic Bowl (ass) Penn State: - Three BIG Ten Championships - Six NY6 Bowl Wins - CFP Semi-Final Appearance - Two Playoff Wins - 11 10+ Win Seasons Franklin’s time was definitely up in State College and he forgot the values that made his time there successful. He’s also an awesome fit for VT where if he wins 8 games a year and the bowl, you’d be excited. Different expectations and if he successful, he’ll prolly leave VT in four years (which would mean it went well for you all). Stop comparing Penn State & Virginia Tech. Different expectations. Different results. Apples to Oranges.

@PSU_TK Keep in mind the dark years were way worse than the Sandusky years. In 2004 we were the only team to not give up more than 21 points in any game, and only won 4 times.

I made the trip to Columbus in 2017 when we were undefeated and #2 in the country. We were up by 15 in the fourth quarter. I don’t need to tell you what happened next. Being in that stadium with a 15-point lead and watching it disappear in 12 minutes has stuck with me as a fan. The drive back from Columbus was long. Very long. I have been to many Penn State games, but this one still sits differently from any other. The game didn’t define the Franklin era but captured it perfectly. The talent was there. The moment was there. The lead was there. And then it wasn’t. Will Matt Campbell be better? We will find out in the next couple of years. We Are 🦁

@CarpenterJimS @DriftVT I don’t see how? Who are some elite coaches and how they developed nfl QB talent. I can’t think of many that have multiple starters in the nfl except maybe Lincoln Riley?

@tmattcrum @DriftVT You just proved my point that none of his QBs have done anything past college, but he still lands top QBs like he did the other day. Just merely making it or getting drafted doesn't mean he developed them.

The best part of the Franklin era will be re-establishing the standard for Hokie football. Even if he ends up leaving in 3-5 years, it’ll set the bar for expectations that the athletic department will have to uphold. No more excuses. Make it happen

@CarpenterJimS @DriftVT They all made the nfl. Lots schools and QB’s wish they could say the same. McSorley is not an NFL talent nor was Clifford (borderline at best). A lot of 4* and 5* kids never make it.Every QB that started for him is in NFL. Great developer? No. Not as bad as portrayed tho imo

@CarpenterJimS @DriftVT McSorley made it to the nfl and did not have nfl talent. I think Clifford hit his ceiling as well. People point to Hack but he had commitment/fitness issues and still made nfl.Allar is a head case. He’s not a QB whisperer but I don’t think his history is as bad as portrayed.

@DriftVT I'm still baffled at how JF recruits like he does, and has won like he has (despite losing all but 1 big game) with his abysmal QB history. None truly develop past good high school and collegiate QBs. My Steelers took Allar, and word is he's having to be completely "reprogrammed"

@SonsofSatVT VT@Pitt 1995. Broke leg night before in my high school game and my coach gave me tickets to the game. Dad and I went and he parked a mile away in the hills of Pittsburgh to find free street parking. Nevermind that I had to crutch it the whole way to the stadium.
