After a brief return to near normal temperatures through tomorrow, we'll go back to unseasonably, dangerous cold through this weekend. This cold blast will be mostly dry but a few light showers or brief snow flurries can't be totally ruled out.

Well, that's less than ideal.

There is a slight risk for severe storms in Mississippi throughout the day Friday (1/9/26) and into the early morning hours of Saturday (1/10/26). Severe storms, damaging wind gusts, and tornadoes are all possible. There is also an elevated risk of flash flooding for much of the state. Remember to stay weather aware and turn around, don't drown.
