Thanks to @NYUMarron for hosting @J_Almazan_Arch and @DanGarodnick for a conversation on planning for spontaneous change & incremental growth — in Tokyo and right here in NYC through #CityofYes.

My inclination since leaving the Alliance is not to weigh in on specific issues affecting Times Square, but the B.S. being spewed by casino proponents was just too much!

So good. The facts, just the facts. @VitalCityNYC vitalcitynyc.org/articles/the-s…

The insights and creativity of Robert Wilson, who passed away today, dramatically shaped Times Square's trajectory during my two decades at the @TimesSquareAlliance At a 2003 visioning session by the @designtrustnyc for Public Space, led by the amazing duo of @ClaireWeisz and @KinshashaConwill, his profound comments laid the seeds for many of the design and art initiatives that followed. And when the brilliant @SherryDobbin left Watermill to become the Director of Times Square Arts, she collaborated with him to create the first Midnight Moment, featuring his astonishing video portraits, which played a key role in formally establishing and legitimizing our nascent arts program.

Spot-on piece in @VitalCityNYC about a critical factor in making government work better, relevant for all cities, not just NYC: tapping and retaining talent. vitalcitynyc.org/articles/mamda…

That these remarkable and principled public servants felt the need to resign says it all.

Almost as disappointing as the decision itself: the lack of an explanation why.

The @nytimes has decided to throw up its hands and let New York’s leaders emerge based on the half-truths promoted by politicians rather than the vast trove of reliable information gathered by the paper of record. What a colossal blunder. nymag.com/intelligencer/…

@AndyKimNJ You are dead wrong and your posting this actually says a lot about you, and not in a good way. I am a lifelong Democrat who has known Curtis for decades and while we have sometimes had spirited disagreements about issues, to assert this about him is both lame and lazy.

The sad truth is that Republican leaders like Curtis Bashaw have stood by Trump's racist comments for years. Bashaw joined Trump last weekend in NJ and has repeatedly and proudly endorsed him. It says a lot about Curtis Bashaw that he supports and condones this shameful behavior.

Trump says that Kamala Harris "all of a sudden made a turn" and became a "Black person." "Is she Indian or is she Black?" Says Harris "could be" a DEI hire (as Tim Burchett and some others have said). "I really don't know."
