@TJWalkerRadio Since when is being realistic negative? People who are passionate about the team are justified to have expectations going into a season. Title team every year is not expected but feeling like you got a chance is. Is that wrong?

@TristanUda @AMarks25621 elite talent on the team does is make you feel like you have a chance to do something special going into the season. Not having elite talent then you don’t have anything to look forward to except hoping you can upset a couple teams. ‘24 was a popular pick going into march.

Don’t disagree with you that elite talent helps you win titles. Kentucky has 8 titles in 88 seasons, since the start of the NCAAT. While banners are the standard, 10 of 11 years, on average, Kentucky doesn’t win a title. You can still have successful seasons without elite talent. Even with elite talent, you are not guaranteed to advance (i.e. Oakland).

In 2024, Kentucky had a starting five that began their careers at SDSU, BYU, OU, Delaware, & Drexel. Fully healthy, they beat the eventual national champs and were Elite 8 caliber. If that roster were built this offseason, it would likely be criticized. Not saying this year's team will succeed or fail, just saying maybe we should let it play out.

Amazon is going to pay Duke players to promote their games as a NIL fee….basically paying the players to do advertisements and since the market is global, they can pay a lot of money That’s actually brilliant and why their Basketball Ops person is the best in the country

@ShawnyYunks @KySportsRadio Uk pays more than that to Youngstown state. If I was one of those schools I’d ask for way more or not agree to the game. I’d think there’s only a handful of top programs that would draw in the viewers for 3 games a year.

This Duke-Amazon deal has some major implications: 1) Signals Amazon is becoming aggressive competitors to traditional networks for collegiate media rights, much like it has been with pro sports 2) New NIL pipeline for Duke 3) Duke is leveraging its brand power for an independent commercial deal, something I'd expect other high-level programs to copy 4) Amazon has global reach, which can only help with exposure - especially with international pipelines thriving in college basketball

@jeffborzello Any word on how much the schools they are playing are getting paid for these games? If I was a school asked to play in these games I would have to negotiate a big fee knowing how much duke is going to be paid

@KyTomCat33 I watched 2 games of Maccabi tel Aviv on yt and I didn't see him try any dunks at all. He only shot 1 shot inside the 3 pt line and it was a missed put back lay up. He's not a high flyer like the highlight clip suggests. he is a good 3 pt shooter I will say that 40%.

Here's the guy Pope went to see in Israel. He averaged 8 pts and 4 rebounds per game. He's only taking 3.6 shots per game. He's a big dude, though. 6-9 and 254 pounds. He tries to dunk on everybody.
