@JasonKieffer1 @AVGAMES07 I think this is a separate issue. Sony's inactivity policy has existed for years before the recent discussion about going all digital. It doesn't really make sense to use an older policy as evidence for the new problem.

They're influenced by privacy and data retention laws, and companies also have reasons like reducing security risks from abandoned accounts. Whether Sony chose the best implementation is a a different convo

@to_3322 @AVGAMES07 The EU law is about how long you can hold onto consumer data as a company. Sony could have found a method to comply with the law without nuking people’s library.
Microsoft only deletes your account if you’ve have no games so that’s not comparable.

@JasonKieffer1 @AVGAMES07 It’s an Eu law, Microsoft has something similar for 2 years instead of 3. While everyone is understandably mad at Sony about the removal of physical games this isn’t really their choice.
