If Keir Starmer resigned, Britain would have its 5th (!) Prime Minister since late 2022 — while Italy has had just one in the same period. What a time to be alive.

Unbelievable that a man who spent US$75m on a film no-one wants to see about Melania Trump has just fired almost all the foreign correspondents on the newspaper he owns. You might think nothing was happening in this world. @JeffBezos @washingtonpost #SaveThePost

Israel has demolished buildings inside the UN Palestinian refugee agency's East Jerusalem compound, which it seized last year. The UN called it a violation of international law. Israeli forces have also ordered dozens of families to leave their homes in southern Gaza in the first forced evacuation since the October ceasefire.

What makes the ‘United Way’ funny is even during their glory years they never had a globally defined style of football. Barca tiki-taka Dortmund Gegenpress Ajax Total Football Athletics Low Block Etc Were they successful? yes. Did they define a generational style of play? no

The Government has launched what it called a 'national conversation' on special education needs - known as SEND - saying it will put the experiences of parents at the heart of future reforms. But many parents live in a state of constant worry about the future of SEND - and have to fight to get their children the right education. And the white paper outlining the proposed changes won't come out until next year. Ruben Reuter has been to Dorset to hear from families anxiously waiting for the promised reforms.

The OBR says that the 'really big surprise' in the forecasts was the huge risk local authorities now pose to Britain's financial stability, particularly because of spiralling SEND costs Richard Hughes says that the special needs programme is putting 'enormous pressure' on local authorities and has led to 'double-digit upward revisions to borrowing' He says it added up to £22billion to financial pressures. 'Local authorities became suddenly a big source of risk and pressure' The OBR points out that the government has said that the 'full cost of SEND provision' will be absorbed 'within departmental budgets BUT no savings have been identified to offset the £6billion worth of costs The OBR says that this would lead to a 4.9 per cent in mainstream school spending per pupil in 2028-29

A major shift in education funding: The full cost of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision will be absorbed by central government departmental spending from 2028-29. This creates a funding pressure of £6.3bn. #Education #SEND

Analysis by our @FactCheck team reveals that UK companies have exported over £17m worth of arms and ammunition to the UAE since January 2024. We don't know exactly what was exported, but some items were categorised under "cartridges" and "munitions of war". channel4.com/news/factcheck…

Anti-black discrimination is 'baked into the institutional design' of the Metropolitan Police - with darker-skinned staff labelled 'confrontational'. Those: just some of the conclusions of a new independent review as the Met attempts to repair its relationship with black communities. Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley said in response the Force was committed to 'listening, learning and acting'. Harry Fawcett spoke to Former Detective Sergeant Nonso Anidi to understand his story.

With the BBC in the middle of a leadership and reputation crisis, Channel 4 News spoke to former BBC presenter David Dimbleby to understand what went wrong. “A vast organisation like the BBC can’t be held to ransom, it’s absurd” David told Channel 4 News. BBC Director-General Tim Davie and CEO of News Deborah Turness both resigned on Sunday night, after a leaked memo criticised a 2024 Panorama programme about the US president. Now, US President Donald Trump has threatened the BBC with $1 billion in legal action, pushing the organisation into deeper scrutiny.

Israeli forces are said to have dropped more explosives on Gaza than fell on London, Dresden and Hamburg combined in the Second World War. The level of destruction is hard to fathom as is the humanitarian suffering. Our Foreign Affairs Correspondent @SecKermani looks at the damage that’s been done and the challenges of now rebuilding if the ceasefire holds.
