Who did not have to pay one cent towards her medical expenses (remember, no insurance). We were denied the wheelchair Carissa needs and I pay for her physical therapy out of pocket. 💯💯💯Agree! Here in Las Cruces Public Schools, the lowest score students can receive is 50%, even if they do not turn in the assignment or take the test! This so-called "equitable grading" totally skews the grades, making it look like both the students and teachers are doing better than they really are. Meanwhile, we have math proficiencies of only 6-9% ‼️‼️‼️ and reading proficiencies of only 29-33% at the majority of Las Cruces high schools. Grades are being inflated at New Mexico State University, too. My homeschooled daughter is attending dual credit classes there and has experienced professors throwing out the lowest test score for each student, using dumbed-down curriculum, giving extra credit for juvenile contributions such as bringing cookies to class, allowing students to retake tests multiple times, etc. In the long run, these measures will HARM students and society at large. We need to be setting higher standards, not degrading standards so that no one will truly excel. Thank you @PaulRunko for this excellent, accurate testimony!
