They don't expire though, legally. Release forms will state how long they are valid for, and it's almost always in perpetuity. It doesn't expire. You're right, they don't hold those Studios accountable, and most likely, their biggest creators probably don't get held accountable either.

PH's compliance system makes no sense. Making manual documentation expire is so fucking weird and people shouldn't be punished for using it when it's supposed to be the industry standard.

Two years is literally the blink of an eye. Barely get any lifetime value out of videos. I have STRONG doubts that the studios that PH owns are holding themselves compliant to these new rules tbh, many have been around for decades there's just no way. I can't even get most people to sign paperwork the day after filming if I forget to have them do it on site, let alone get someone whose retired to sign new paperwork (it'll never happen).

@toetallydevine It's absolutely ridiculous. It means you can never replace old content with a newer better edit, or put together a new compilation video with older clips. You'll be forced to track down all your retired co-performers and ask them to sign again.
