This is a big milestone for SEAL the #Search Engine Abstraction Layer for #php. Thx to @toflar we have now facets 🚀. Faceted Search is one of the most common technics in ecommerce systems. It allows you to only show filters which make sense for the user. github.com/PHP-CMSIG/sear…

Here's a challenge for you if you speak C and #PHP fluently. Somehow #SQLite seems to keep materialized CTEs for the entire process which seems like it could break software using long-running processes like #frankenphp and Co. I'd appreciate insights :) github.com/loupe-php/loup…

Happy to show you another new release of SEAL. With the latest release its now possible to count your documents inside your #search index. Specially useful to hide a search if there is nothing available. Thx to @toflar again for this feature. github.com/PHP-CMSIG/sear…

@vhsdev @alex_s_ In the meantime, things have been improved even more (multiple ranking algorithms, facetting etc.) but the core values are still the same. It's fun, though! :-)

What is the weirdest/coolest PHP code/package you've ever seen/written? Could be anything! I want to collect some awesome PHP samples to show off during the upcoming 8.4 celebration livestream. Let me know! #PHP

PHP crowd: can you recommend a solid template engine that is easily embeddable as standalone library (does not require full framework)? Twig, Latte? Is there a way to use Blade outside Laravel?

@ddebowczyk There's a "timeout" option which is normalized across the different implementations. But if you really want to set that option, you can do so via options (use the "extra.curl" key). It will only work if the curl implementation is used of course.

I've added Symfony HttpClient support to Instructor. Feels like Pyrrhic victory after I've learned (after wasting hours) Symfony HttpClient does not support connect timeouts (?!?). Any ideas how to work around this (other than not using Symfony)?

Thanks to @toflar for pointing out an issue with Instructor's DateTimeImmutable deserialization - it's fixed now.

@dunglas @ApiPlatform Hmm, this looks an awful lot like fixing URL parsing issues. Given that you want to release Mercure v1, maybe fixing subscription parameter support. So, introducing WebSub, maybe?

A reminder that LoupePHP a #search engine for #PHP only based on SQLite extension was released more as one year ago by @toflar: @yanick.witschi/loupe-a-search-engine-with-only-php-and-sqlite-1c0d83024a71" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">medium.com/@yanick.witsch… It is also a great way to start using SEAL my own Search Engine Abstraction Layer: schranz-search.github.io/schranz-search…

crazy that no endpoints supports the @meta Resumable Upload API with pictures although it's the first thing you find on the documentation...
