He and the Uvalde officers are all POS for not stepping in like a stand-up civilian Dad would have in the same situation if armed. Thing is, through the civilian lens, the expectation is that LEO are there to put their lives on the line for citizens. That is absolutely not the reality. These officers go out every single day and put their lives on the line just by virtue of being in a squad car and patrolling, looking for criminal activity. Or, responding to insane domestic calls. This old guy had only a service handgun. How effective would that be against a high powered rifle in the hands of a lunatic? How would you expect this old guy to get the drop on a younger, unbalanced, psychotic person with sheer selfless malevolence coursing through their brain? Let's keep the job in perspective. How much would YOU want to be paid to put your life on the line outside of military service?
