@_SByrne Guessing they’ll be popular so probably need 10+ away games for first refusal?

Stockport County, under owner Mark Stott, are planning to help deliver 126 "genuinely affordable" homes in the borough - using land once earmarked for a training facility to tackle the town's housing shortage. The club say that a range of two, three and four-bedroom homes would remain affordable long-term as part of a "once in a generation" opportunity in the town, 'supporting young families, key workers, and first-time buyers'. County also say that all proceeds from the proposal, which is planned alongside 'development partners' Stonebond, will be reinvested locally - supporting education and employment programmes with Stockport College and MMU, building on the Community Trust’s work with vulnerable residents, investing in youth and women’s football, and continuing to improve facilities at EP. The above is subject to planning approval, with the club also hoping to receive backing from SMBC on the project, which they say stands to bring 'significant benefits' to the wider community. Also worth noting that under Stott's ownership, County have now already invested north of £40m into both club and town in the last six years, with these plans set to add to that investment in the borough. Mark Stott: "Supporting the community and creating the right opportunities for young people matters enormously to #StockportCounty, which is why money generated from this development will be reinvested to support further and higher education programmes linked to sport, and for the benefit of community programmes and facilities.”

Dave Challinor on the issue of goalkeepers going down clearly uninjured at every level to provoke a stoppage (both goalkeepers went down today during #StockportCounty vs Leyton Orient): "I don't like it. But until something is done about it, what are you going to do? I can categorically say I wouldn't have done it today had they (Orient) not done the same thing." "We've gone down to ten, I'm then going to say 'go down'. It's an absolute shambles. It needs sorting out." "I'm very, very happy to make sure that with what I do with my team through the week, everyone knows what they're doing if (the opposition) go to a different situation, knows what they're doing if we make a substitution, knows what they're doing if we go down to ten. Not 'get the goalkeeper to go down, and get people over for a drink and a team talk'." "If we say that you have to take the goalkeeper off if they go down, bring it on. Something needs to be done - whether it will, or whether it won't, is well above me. But yeah, that's the circumstances (of what happened)." #StockportCounty

@_SByrne Hi Sam, been a discussion in block E of the main stand for a while. We think a rugby style solution is possible. Physio comes on and game carries on around them. If it’s the GK down, sub goalie is sat behind the net with the ballboys and runs on if the keeper goes down.

Despite today’s tough loss, I’m incredibly proud of the club. From success on the pitch to funding PE kits for kids & supporting the community, it’s been a fantastic season. Huge congrats to everyone involved — onwards and upwards! #StockportCounty

An agonising end to an incredible first season back in League One, but still so much to be proud of. These boys have given everything this season, and so have you. Thank you for your incredible support, and we'll see you again next season 💙 #StockportCounty

I live in a seaside town. Gulls are a probably: messy, noisy, thieves. And yet I always feed them. This is because tourists hate them, and the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
