We are studying how rhizosphere of apple trees is affected by amendment with beneficial microbes at planting times and its effects on plant establishment and #fruitproduction. @NIABEMR is sampling rhizosphere for microbial profiling 18 months post-treatment.

The big @The_RHS letters came in handy for a little rest after the penultimate day of #RHSTattonPark . @NIABEMR and @NHM_Science have had a busy 4 days chatting to lots of people about DNA, soil and fruit as part of @excalibur_h2020. If you're visiting tomorrow come and say hi!
@NIABEMR have recently set up a new trial with potted apple trees as part of the @excalibur_h2020 project. M9 rootstocks are sued to evaluate the effects of individual and combined soil amendments of different classes of beneficial microbes on tree establishment.

Our colleagues @NIABEMR are looking at the use of beneficial fungi and bacteria in the establishment of replanted apple orchards🍏In Excalibur they will use a number of methods to assess differences in the soil communities at the root interface across time & between treatments.
