@TheCoachMak @Keinnection @mbateman @JonHaidt Yea that’s kinda why I’m confused half the tech stuff I got them ends up collecting dust. They go to school all day and have wrestling twice a week in the off seasons plus school work they are exhausted and want to go out and hang with their friends.

@tomatogreens @Keinnection @mbateman @JonHaidt Are you happy with your own use of tech? How about your teenagers? Would you prefer they or you spend more time doing physical things? How is the pattern going to iterate over time?

@tomatogreens @TheCoachMak @mbateman @JonHaidt Parenting is hard. In my case, I'm only doing it once and I'd rather spend the time with him outside or playing cars than having him sit infront of a screen. I would regret that later. I want this connection now, and I guarantee no screens helps with his cognitive development.

@tomatogreens @TheCoachMak @mbateman @JonHaidt There is a safe way in moderation at an appropriate age, and some family's choose to not utilize it at all. The problem is most people are giving tablets and phones to 3 year olds because they don't want to actually parent and deal with big emotions.

@TheCoachMak @Keinnection @mbateman @JonHaidt Do you think there’s no safe way to use this technology like I get we don’t let kids drive but we teach them how to ride bikes and how traffic works. They can’t buy a gun but we go to the range and shoot together. It feels like we’re throwing the baby out with the bath water

@tomatogreens @Keinnection @mbateman @JonHaidt You're asking about the difference between an adult utilizing something vs a kid? There are age barriers for an infinite number of things culturally Driving, voting, firearm purchases, etc etc etc Age appropriate exposure is the key

@Keinnection @mbateman @JonHaidt We don't own a TV Eventually I may get one with zero smart capabilities and a DVD player We can hit the library to check out a movie for the weekend or something when the kids are older but I'm not going to live in the digital world

It’s true. The network could buy ad time from local station spots. That’s how they got around Nick knowing it was happening. In fairness, I believe they did the same to us…

I’d never pack a lunch that would stink up the break room. I think that’s work place etiquette. Folks will pack tuna with onions, and Doritos and just buss that shit out in their cubicle

Did anyone else in high school also have the most obvious pyramid scheme taking place that the dumbest humans you know partook in? I think ours was an energy drink called verve? Am I the only one
