@andkalysh Thanks for the comment, that’s a good theory from lore perspective but I wouldn’t say it’s enough to explain the immersion break (I locked the replies because some players got overly defensive even though I said it was not criticism but a me issue).

Sadly I cant reply to this coment, but the OP forgets that ethan was literal mold by that point and half the stuff that was happening could be evelynn induced hallucinations, not mentioning that jack was mold as well.

RE7 is very atmospheric but not immersive for me. Not criticism, just that I’m not used to it: I sigh every time Jack Baker teleports to trigger a scripted event, or molded enemies de-spawn when I cross an area transition boundary, or discarded item vanishes into thin air.
