@history_dame In addition to the 1619ish twist, the series is very repetitious in focus as others have noted. It took 5 hours into the series to get a small mention of the Southern battles.

I have not had a chance to begin the series yet as my weeknights are pretty hectic and I get to bed early… BUT I would love to know everyone’s thoughts so far on the new Ken Burns American Revolution who has started it! What are your thoughts?

@dlongenecker1 That irritates me as badly as those who use "ask" for demand or question as in "What is his ask?".

Is anybody else irritated by the noun "gift" being turned into a verb? Why not simply say someone "gave" this or that rather than saying they "gifted" it. If I'm missing something do tell.

@SenTomDavisSC I always tried go put up a large number of signs at once in a shock and awe approach. Never doubt the psychological impact - positive on you and negative on your opponent - of a well placed sign.

Putting up signs today along Bluffton Parkway. I’m obsessive about placement — signs must be at least 50 feet apart, perpendicular to the ground, not leaning forward or backward. Not sure if signs make any electoral difference but deploying them is therapeutic for this candidate.

How very tragically Russian. A Russian Rachmaninoff-playing child-prodigy pianist died from a hunger strike in a Russian prison while awaiting trial on charges over his anti-Putin comments. No one knew about his hunger strike until now. bbc.com/news/articles/…

Jeremy Paxman: Parkinson's 'makes you wish you hadn't been born'. Well, after 18 years with it, I wouldn't go that far but I am impressed with and support the UK Parkinson's Charter. Patients in the US would benefit from the same. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-687951…

If I were the type to feel uneasy about the state of world affairs, I would lookout for a sudden convergence of stupidity.
