The SC Senate wouldn’t settle for just legalizing THC drinks. Medical access had to be part of it. H.3924 now delivers both — 21+, licensing, real accountability.

The Hemp THC bill should ensure patient access to products for medical purposes but the SC Senate had amended it to allow only recreational drinks. A new amendment passed last night restored medical access but the bill then failed to get second reading. Debate continues today.

In #SOTU President @realDonaldTrump called for “ratepayer protection pledges” whereby Big Tech pays for increased electricity costs associated with data centers rather than passing them onto consumers. My pending bill S. 867 would make such protections the law in South Carolina.

I enjoyed my third (record-breaking?) appearance on the @BITBRPodcast⁩ last Thursday with former South Carolina State Senators @VincentSheheen and Joel Lourie. As always, our conversation about State House goings-on was spirited, mildly irreverent and (hopefully) informative.
