New blog post - a bit of fun with a card game designed for volcanology - "Voltivity" (Volcanic Activity cleverly combined...). A turn based card game where players compete to get the most points by creating eruptions. volcano-blog.com/blog/voltivity…

In this paper we look at gas bubbles and how they behave when travelling inside inclined conduits. We look at what effect small amounts of particles have on the behaviour of these bubbles. The goal to see what combining complexities could do for strombolian style eruptions.

Here is our new research based in the use of a new low-cost permanent UV camera, collaboration with @tompering @Thomas_Wilkes1 and others

Overall, we hope that this paper and instrument development shows the potential for low-cost permanent installations of ultraviolet cameras in the future.

Here we have example imagery from Lascar volcano taken on 25th May 2022, thanks to collaborators @FelipeVolcanes @ckelarvolcanes in Chile.

On the back of this, can anyone recommend any volcanology books that I can then recommend to some keen and smart ~9 year olds. My knowledge is limited to books appropriate for under 5’s or over 16’s 😜.
