6/ The government argued that developers can't be impeded because they have spent a lot of money producing PBOs – indeed they have: taxpayer money from taxpayers who have repeatedly said they don’t want GM-PBOs and if they are in the food system they want them labelled.

5/ The government argued that it was important to act quickly to remove regulations from PBOs so Britain could have a ‘first-mover advantage’ in the GMO marketplace (In other words the goal was profiteering over prevention of harm to people or the environment).

4/ As a thought exercise, it was suggested that if people wanted to avoid English PBOs they could buy food that came from countries that don’t use PBOs – like France. What do our hard-working working farmers think about that?!

3/ When asked directly if people have the right to know whether they are eating GMOs, the government answered “no”.

bollox- we produce huge amounts of animal manure & urine, more with chicken manure & feathers (15% Nitrogen, will green up your lawn nicely!) Just these are too often dumped or spread too thick nearby for 'profit' & stop peeing in the toilet, pee in the watering can!!!

wish you folk would open your eyes, you seem so hostile to anyone suggesting alternative methods, you carry on with such trust in what you're being told when it's obvious your business model is more to the advantage of big business than to you as farmers
