Senate President Don Harmon tells me the Senate will not move forward a constitutional amendment changing redistricting rules in Illinois in the wake of today's SCOTUS ruling.

Illinois Democratic senators are expected to caucus today on a proposed constitutional amendment that was conceived last week in the House that’s designed to be a response to this ruling. The amendment would basically put the questioned VRA line into the Illinois constitution

With a weakened Section 2, Republicans could in Georgia could adopt a map similar to this. It would flip two majority-Black seats from 🔵 to 🔴. Only flipping one seat would be safer, given the blue trending Atlanta Metro Area.
