Hot take…. coming out of Combine I wouldn’t be surprised to see Travon Walker in play for media mocks at #2. A combo of strong testing, Hutchinson being back in play at 1, and the need to freshen up mocks. He’s also a hell of a player.

@KuKhahil @Halbridious Out of interest, what are Houston fans saying about an Amen extension and numbers?

The amount of people I see saying “if he starts to score 14+ a game, hits 33%+ of his threes, and develops as a point forward this will be worth it!!” and not understand that if he even does one of those things (two depending on how good he gets at it), he wouldn’t be worth this contract we’d be talking about if he’s worth a max contract lol

REPORT: Ausar Thompson is expected to sign a 5-year deal with the Pistons this offseason worth an estimated $162M, per @BobbyMarks42.

@KuKhahil I appreciate the Beasley situation was out of our hands, but do you think rolling last year’s roster forward would have had a better chance in the playoffs than this year’s roster (assuming same development of the young guys)?

My answer is somewhere in between that yes Ausar has to improve on offense, but I don’t understand why this is the convo in this series. He’s been theirsecond best player. But you said bigger picture so I’ll avoid focusing on this series. I can only speak from what I know and have been told. The Detroit Pistons think Ausar will be shooting next year. They believe in the jumpshot they’ve helped him create and they want him to start shooting volume on threes next year. They do not think he’s this cancer to an offense that casual fans think. Out of all the players on this roster, my feeling from what I’ve heard all year is Ausar is the one they’re most high on outside of Cade. So to answer your question, yes I think Ausar probably needs to become a better scorer for the Pistons to eventually win a championship. However, I also think we’re not sitting here having this discussion about Ausar and Duren again if this team had a volume 3pt shooter at the four that instead of shooting 14% from deep was shooting 38%. I don’t think we’re having this discussion if they had a 2 guard who was a shooter and capable of creating offense downhill. I don’t think we’re having this discussion if they had more than one shooter in their rotation. So overall, yes Ausar has to get better but so does Cade and Duren. They’re not the central parts of my concern. The central parts of concern is building a roster that enables them offensively—which isn’t hard to do.
Latif Love@realLatifLove

Ku, I come in peace with a question. I think it would be very brash to trade Ausar or Duren at this point, but are you willing to admit that Ausar needs to improve as a jump shooter to be a viable playoff starter for a team with championship aspirations? There are few to no examples of non-bigs who were also non-shooters that started on championship teams since the 3P evolution, and having a center who also can’t space the floor doesn’t help either. There are available counters: using Ausar as a screener in DHO, short-roll and pin-down actions, or giving him more ball-handling reps, but those don’t completely fix issues. Thinking big picture here.

@DetroitOnLion Would you rather go up to 15 to get the one you have graded higher, or settle at 17 assuming no trade down offer? In mock drafts it’s mostly a case of select your favourite OT at 17 but you may have to move up a couple spots to get the one you want, or just go BPA regardless

This sounds like speculation on Rapoport's part, but it's a scenario I talked about right after free agency: teams trading in front of Detroit for an OT.

From The Insiders on @NFLNetwork: Attempting to ID potential trade spots in the first round, looking right around No. 15 and 16.

@HonoluluBlues_ Obv there are run D questions, but Lawrence’s pre draft process means I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s going to be closer to 17 than 50. You can only take what the simulator gives you though!

@JoeLiuzzi88 I personally don't think Mauigoa has the upside of Sewell, but kind of crazy how similar their physical measurements are

From the first moment I started watching Francis, I saw clear similarities to Penei Sewell. Crazy how even the physicals match up so well. Would be very happy if he lands with the Giants. Having AT and Francis as bookends for the next 5+ years would be incredible.

@PrideOfDetroit Spoiler alert, I'm not a coordinator. But if I was, running Jamo off for long enough in the first half of a season that DCs are telling their DBs to keep eyes on digs and intermediate routes for the back half and playoffs feels like a best case scenario

@DetroitOnLion I had this previously. Injured in pre-season, diagnosed as a torn labrum so played rest of season at safety. Only when they operated they realised the glenoid fracture (+hills-sachs lesion) and needed 3 ops to reconstruct. Playing versus NFL Dline with that injury is wild

Woking Golf Club. They say that it all started here - the heady brew of art and science that we know today as golf course architecture and strategic design - when members John Low and Stuart Patton decided to drop a few centerline bunkers into the 4th fairway. Even without its amazing history, this healthland gem in the Surrey Hills southwest of London should be a place on every golfer’s must-play list. It’s a terrific design and an incredibly fun loop - a paradigmatic example of the often-overused-but-perfectly-appropriate-here labeled course “I could happily play every day.” As an added note, if American golfers knew what a membership at Woking (and similar clubs here) cost compared to an average U.S. country club membership, heads would explode. Pounds buy more than dollars, it would seem, when it comes to the purchase of great golf. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧
