The way that Trump went about it - the usual art of the deal maximalist crazy opening gambit etc - was indefensible and hurt NATO in the eyes of the world. But this excellent map in the Times shows why the issue is important and Britain and the continent should be concerned with Arctic security. Greenland IS incredibly important, and if you magically think that the West has somehow done a better job of securing it than we have our borders, or NATO’s eastern flank, or our infrastructure, or our institutions (etcetc), then you should, to put it mildly, think again.
