@basicwitgirl @starwars swtor was the slopification of this series. they didn't make kotor 3 despite massive demand because they wanted to profit endlessly via subscriptions and instead created something that became stale in a year and died

OUT OF CURIOSITY… if I’m hoping to continue my Star Wars games journey once I finish Knights of the Old Republic 2, is SWTOR worth checking out for story continuation?? Or should I branch over to Fallen Order/Jedi Survivor??

Sure! For non-divers: At 160 ft on regular air, nitrogen builds up fast and causes "narcosis" — like getting drunk underwater, messing with judgment and coordination. Oxygen toxicity (CNS) risks seizures/convulsions from too much O2 pressure at that depth. Pros use nitrox (extra O2) shallower or trimix (helium mix) deeper to stay safe. 160 ft on plain air is extremely risky — the diver called it way beyond normal recreational limits. Tragic.

Something that really struck me while watching Revenge of the Sith in the theater again last year was just much better it plays as a 20 year old film than a contemporary one. I felt like I was attending a special screening of a film like The Wizard of Oz or Gone with the Wind, where the over-acting and melodramatic dialogue was just part of the experience that in no way was to the film's detriment. The Shakespearean themes, totally devoid of the irony and sarcasm that plagues so many modern movies, were quite impactful and the visuals, cinematography and especially the score were still absolutely amazing. Probably the best experience I had at the theater all year.

There was no solution because the Star Wars universe is fundamentally a broken and evil place on a spiritual level. The options have only ever been to be ruled by an empire run by corpse-satan, or be ruled by eunuch yogis that believe the DMV is the most sacred form of government. There can be no heroism when that is the good/evil axis
Clint Warren-Davey@Clint_Davey1

Yes exactly. What Star Wars should have done in the sequels is make the Imperial remnant faction the underdogs. Make them like rebels. Have the heroes working for a new republic that is triumphant but still going through a kind of counter-insurgency phase.

Feel like I'm missing out because I don't use skills, or a lot of MCP, or multi-agent orchestrations when using AI dev tools. I'm just like "implement this feature" or "how do this work" or "no not like that, do this instead". Idk, I feel fast and accurate so why change?

New Anthropic research: Teaching Claude why. Last year we reported that, under certain experimental conditions, Claude 4 would blackmail users. Since then, we’ve completely eliminated this behavior. How?

@KeshonHend @TheMagaHulk yea the prequels weren't corporate slop, just bad films. at least it had world building and contributed to the games I grew up with like Kotor and Jedi Knight 2&3

@tonesoprone @TheMagaHulk For a lot of people it’s relative. Disney Star Wars was so bad that made people who didnt like the prequels appreciate that they could have been worse.

The neckbeards of Red Letter Media ruined the appreciation of the Prequel trilogy, and helped inspire the heinous Disney trilogy. Ironically, they've whined about fandoms being too critical of Disney Star Wars after creating feature-lengths videos to dissect and attack the Prequels.

It’s very interesting how all the blue pressers focus on what OTHERS SHOULD press, the low IQ red pressers focus on what THEY THEMSELVES SHOULD press, and the high IQ red pressers focus on what OTHERS WILL press.
Crémieux@cremieuxrecueil

Accurate cartoon. In my polling, almost 6% of people said they picked the wrong button when they were prompted about it. Assume the global error rate is higher and kids' responses are random, and easily 1-in-6 to 1-in-5 hit blue by mistake. So, if red wins, society is ruined.
