@FrEvaristus They pretend to be busy to appear productive, but they are mostly laughing and aloof during meetings, just as they often speed in convoys yet are always consistently late. This creates a false impression of unavailability.

These governors hardly have time for sleep. Is it really hard work? A former colleague told me how Gov. Alia of Benue State invited a priest to visit him at Government House. He welcomed the priest and asked him to wait as he was stepping out. He did not return until past 2 a.m., when he asked that they share a meal, his first for the day. I had my own experience years ago. As a young priest, I visited a friend in Uyo when Obong Attah was governor. My friend asked me to accompany him to see the governor. We went to Government House around 8 p.m. and waited until around 3:20 a.m. before the governor saw us for less than five minutes. When I served on the SACA board in my state, meetings scheduled with the governor for 10 a.m. often meant waiting until 4 p.m. before he saw us, if at all. I really wonder why governors keep people waiting so long. Why not your secretary organize your schedule and only accept those you can meet?

Our inability to measure is one of the reasons we are here. Single digit inflation wasn’t good, low interest rate was bad, GDP growth wasn’t good, so we can’t elect someone marginally better, only to get worse

Trunk A: Plateau to Benue to A.Ibom to port-harcourt (Agriculture Axis I) Trunk B: Kaduna to Niger to Oyo to lagos (Agriculture axis II) Trunk C: Lagos to Calabar (Industrial & Shipping axis) Abuja is an administrative nerve centre and yes it needs a superhighway & even an HSR but it shouldn’t be prioritised at this stage, anyone that needs to go to abuja for admin reasons can afford a flight for now!

I feel the Coalition should consider some of these factors whenever they want to decide on a perfect ticket; 1. 2023 election results. 2. Tinubu has never lost an election in his life. 3. Tinubu that didn't lose outside power will be difficult to defeat in power. 4. Kwankwaso isn't interested in the 2027 election, he is just in the coalition to support a Southerner to lose so he can always come around to blackmail the South into voting for him in 2031. 5. Atiku and Obi must be on the same page.

He later picked Dr Ngozi Iweala, a PhD from MIT and a World Bank senior economic manager. Nenadi Usman was a junior minister and her appointment was strictly political. She didn't qualify for the role. When Umaru Yar'adua was appointing a Finance Minister, he picked Dr Shamsuddeen Usman, a PhD from London School of Economics and Political Science, former Central Banker, former university academic, and former UBA manager. He later chose Dr Mansur Mukhtar, MSc Cambridge, PhD Sussex (Economics), Senior Economist, and former DG Debt Management Office. Goodluck Jonathan appointed Olusegun Aganga, Senior Director at Ernst and Young London, MD Goldman Sachs London, World Bank and IMF Board Member. He later reappointed Dr Ngozi Iweala as Coordinating Minister for the Economy. The rot started with the APC administration. Muhammadu Buhari appointed Kemi Adeosun. She has BSc Economics from the University of East London, a Postgraduate Diploma and certified Chartered Accountant as Finance Minister. She didn't even have NYSC certificate. He later appointed Zainab Shamsuna. She has BSc Accounting from ABU Zaria and MBA from Olabisi Onabanjo University. Was Executive Secretary at NEITI but had no relevant professional work experience in finance. Bola Tinubu went tribal. He picked Wale Edun, a former Commissioner of Finance in Lagos and merchant banker. He has BSc, and MSc in Economics from the University of London. He later replaced him with Taiwo Oyedele, A HND holder in Accounting, MSc from Oxford Brookes, and former tax consultant at PwC. He has zero work experience in finance. Dr Doris Nkiruka is a medical doctor. She's a Certified Finance Analyst and MBA holder but have zero work experience in finance administration. Are you wondering why our economy has deteriorated under the APC administrations? The quality of their strategic appointments has been abysmal. It's either tribalism or nepotism. Merit is a second consideration!
