@samtayyari you don’t have to justify yourself to anyone. just keeping moving on & moving up. don’t tell them your moves.

I believe that catering to the algorithm, on any platform or medium, is playing it safe. These calculations have been made on what has worked in the past. It is prediction-based modelling that depends on historical context. It’s a safe bet. Its design intention is to make the best safer.
But the most groundbreaking innovations, products, and even creative works and films, seemingly come out of nowhere. They come out of nowhere because they aren’t things you can look for or predict. These are the least safest bets. The highest risk to reward ratios. Sink or swim. Feast or famine.
I want to play that game. I’m blessed with the bone in my body and the state of mind that not only tolerates a disproportionate risk/reward ratio, but seeks it out. I like to play at hard mode, even at my own detriment. I’m ok with falling 7 times because I’m going to get up 8. I’m ok with looking like a fool, because to a fool the world is his oyster.
If I am lucky enough to be received by the world in my lifetime, then I will be double lucky. Because I am already lucky to find genuine joy and happiness in my daily pursuits, whether they are received or not.

Went to AP Tokyo Lab when I was in Japan recently and it was an amazing experience as a watch enthusiast and also as a business and branding enthusiast.
There is no fee for this experience, nor do you have to own an AP. The vibes are cordial and informative, not stuffy at all. Truly feels all are welcome.
The entire experience is about 60-75 minutes. There were just 4 people in our group. You start with the history and origins of Audemars Piguet before going on to the rawest form of raw materials. There are small games along the way that keeps everything engaging. They even let you hold an actual AP dial and feel the grooves, which most dealers and reps never get to do.
After the educational component downstairs, you are led upstairs to the finishing workshop. You’re given an official AP lab coat and a thick brass ring.
They teach you how to create a vertical brushed finish as well as a decorative knurled finish. At the end they put a cord on the ring and let you keep it to wear as a pendant! (But not the lab coats, unfortunately)
It was a very memorable experience. Got to learn more about AP and watchmaking overall and walked away with an AP pendant, completely complimentary. If you’re going to Tokyo I recommend booking in advance!

One year ago today I graduated from law school in Australia. It was the most challenging experience of my life. I passed on a traditional law career to build apps while also gaining legal experience remotely, in between building and travelling the world.
The other week I was on a high-speed train in China, drafting a trademark application and working on an app following a factory tour. The stuff I dreamt up as a kid. Everything I said I’m going to do, I’m doing it. Sometimes it takes me longer than I’d like. But I do it every time.

I set the record with this one. I recently stayed at this hotel in Chongqing, China 🇨🇳 for $11.50 USD per night. It was a very basic room but the view was second to none. Bridge level. It was basically a room with one end as a living painting.
It was safe and secure, fairly clean, decent wifi, and in a very central location. It had a huge bathroom and a seperate room with just a bathtub in it and a view of the Nanjimen Yangtze River Bridge.
This was the absolute best value return per dollar of any hotel I’ve ever stayed at in the world. 🏨 🌍

I just dislike many in West always measuring China with a different ruler than for example Japan
If Japan has lights, omg it's soooo futuristic UwU
If China has lights, it's a waste of energy, light pollution and unhealthy
It's so intellectually dishonest
