Sadly, and to my surprise, you will find little on its history beyond the odd reference to a darts team. It was certainly a Blue Star pub during the latter half of the 20th century but I am, unfortunately, stumped!

From Stockton, the next village up the Castle Eden railway is Thorpe Thewles. This is a village sitting on a low ridge towards Durham. A quiet little place with a broad green, a church and two pubs facing each other across the road.
