Had to nip out & spotted the packaging of 3 curtain poles scattered around along the road, as well as a large shopping bag. Seemingly tossed from a car. #Tosser Fortunately I have a #litter bin at home. And hands.

A transgender police community support officer has been jailed for eight years and six months after attempting to manufacture a prohibited firearm using a 3D printer. Zoe Watts, 39, of St Helen’s Avenue in Lincoln, was sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court after being found guilty in June. They denied attempting to make a weapon, claiming they was creating a “fidget” toy gun as a Christmas present, but the jury rejected their defence. During a raid on 11 December, officers from Lincolnshire Police found knives, a crossbow and parts for a semi-automatic short-range rifle, along with a 3D printer hidden in a cupboard. Prosecutors said the firearm design was capable of firing 33 rounds in 10 to 15 seconds and could have caused mass casualties if properly assembled. Although experts were unable to make the seized parts function, the court heard it would have been a lethal prohibited weapon if completed correctly. Two days before the search, Watts had looked online for information about deaths linked to 3D-printed guns. Judge Simon Hirst described Watts as polite but said they had an “obsession with weapons” and a troubling search history. He noted there was planning involved, though no evidence the weapon would have been sold. Watts, who was previously jailed in 2021 for weapons and explosives offences, was also made subject to a deprivation order and a five-year serious crime prevention order. Credit: predator awareness.

More places are switching to red lights along streets and paths because they don't bother bats as much. Blue and white lights are well-documented to disturb their natural rhythms. Switching your own porchlight to a red bulb helps too.

Spent an hour & a half doing this, through brambles & nettles. Nobody will even notice it, apart from the rabbits that live here perhaps 🐇 But, I know that a full bag of #litter isn't there anymore. Crazy to think that almost all of this is crisp packets. Plus a beer bottle 🍺

@EdinburghPicker @SafferTheGaffer Out of interest, my picker works by squeezing the handle. Yours is a different mechanism - is it easier on the hand cos my hand often cramps up if doing a big pick!

@FrogSlimey @SafferTheGaffer I used to get a sore hand too with my old picker, especially if I hadn't been litter-picking for a while. When I first used this one (a borrowed one), somehow I found it hard to work with initially. I don't know why because as soon as I received my own I got used to it right away

@FrogSlimey @SafferTheGaffer I previously used a different picker to yours, but it looks like it had a similar pin to hold the handle together. I lost it very quickly and used a cable tie instead too!

@EdinburghPicker @SafferTheGaffer It broke trying to pick a squished RedBull can out of a flowing drain! Think it might be fixable. I was a bit too drenched to sort it out so will do repairs tomorrow - hoping a cable tie might sort it! Unfortunately the two cable ties I litterpicked tonight were cut!! 🫤

@MBattista95506 It seems odd, so many crisp packets & other snack wrappers together on this hill, but there's an explanation and it's not people dropping them there. Down wind from this area is a school you see, & that's where they come from. Nowhere else have I even found so many.

@EdinburghPicker Its amazing how many people just throw litter on the ground. If there was no bin surely you would put it in a bag or pocket till you got home or saw a bin !!!!!

Watch how the situation completely flips the moment a firearm is introduced. Having the means to defend himself likely saved this driver from a severe beating,or worse.
