@SafsSon @jason_blqck @IhejirikaS48939 They were pretty bad. Nani was the key man. Ronaldo didn’t have the best tournament
English

@jason_blqck @IhejirikaS48939 They would’ve been out in the group without him and he was directly involved in the goals that got them through 2 ko games.
Not to mention general play
English

These uncs brought a European Trophy back home. Don’t play with them.

@TopsyKretX @EmmetGates We’re talking about much more recent history. Less than 20 years to now. They are at risk of losing the right to host euro 2032 bc of poor infrastructure. Football in that country is the furthest thing from fine. 3 world cups in a row is emblematic of the deep rot that has set in
English

@topeoyerinde @EmmetGates If you want to compare everybody with their most glorious times, it’s gonna make even less sense. Hungary was the best footballing nation in the world in the 50s, i don’t see you writing the same stuff about them. Times change mate. And italian club football is more than fine.
English

@TopsyKretX @EmmetGates Compared to the 90s and 2000s where serie A clubs were actually feared. The decline is staggering. Horrible stadium infrastructure, no Italians getting minutes at top clubs. Youth players languishing in the lower divisions. They are about to tear everything down and rebuild
English

@topeoyerinde @EmmetGates Not only winning a competition can be called success. Getting to the later stages of the competition is success aswell. Otherwise there would be only two countries who are successful, which is clearly not the case.
Italy had multible Final appearances.
English

@TopsyKretX @EmmetGates The last winter of the champions league was 16 years ago. Atalanta won the Europa league. I’d hardly consider that success. They are not even a top 3 league in Europe anymore
English

@topeoyerinde @EmmetGates For real football fans what matters is success. Italian clubs are internationally successful. So yes, they are fine.
English

@BFtalk_ @theMadridZone I played CB. He’s correct. If you play in a team that dominates possession it’s not that hard.
English

@theMadridZone This is one of the worst takes I’ve ever heard. Defending is the hardest part of football. It’s the foundation of everything. As a centre-back, everything has to be perfect — timing, positioning, decision-making, when to step out or stay. One mistake and it’s a goal.
English

🚨 Kylian Mbappé: "The easiest position in football? In my opinion, it's centre-back.
You're covered from every direction, you can even play in a 3atb.
It's the only position where you see guys who are 40 years old, still in Europe, still in top clubs.
An attacker at 40 years old, he's finished."

English

@N_FitzpatrickTO @24thminute There’s no fix. If Iran choose to pull out the next best team from the Asian confederation takes their spot
English

@24thminute Perhaps they know the fix is in for FIFA President Trump to give the Iran spot to Italy.
English

le club le plus « hype » d’Italie qui branle un style de jeu purement espagnol avec 0 italiens dans l’effectif avec des riches de toute l’Europe comme partenaire
Et après on se demande pourquoi la Nazionale se casse la gueule

@ilveroCM @DavidLSwan It’s not enough. France, Spain and England are the undisputed top 3 in that regard. The Netherlands and Germany and Belgium are the next tier and Italy is below. For it’s population size Italy is poor in production
English

@DavidLSwan Not deluded - it’s not a talent issue. What you described and compared at least puts you on par with top nations…enough to beat others would it not?
English

Deluded. We haven't won the U-21 Euros since 2004. Haven't made the final since 2013.
Three U-19 finals since 2008. Sounds great, right? England also have three, France have four, Portugal five, Spain seven (!!).
Italy are not producing enough top players
Daniel Lucci@Lucci_AJC
Italy doesn’t have a talent problem, they have a development problem and I’ll tell you why. They always do decently well in the Youth tournaments. Where we see players like Kayode, Bartesaghi, Liberali, Fagioli, Hasa, Ricci, Casadei, and many others play well. 1/2
English

@GabrielOpAcc @_s4It4M_ @_RobertoA_ @maiamindel This current version of Brazil is quite weak. I don’t have them top 5 either.
English

@_s4It4M_ @_RobertoA_ @maiamindel 😂😂 With all due respect you just don’t like anything outside of Europe and enjoy feeling superior my boy. Well, you’re not. You just struggled to win against Brazil’s B team to be talking shit on internet like that.

@max_asroma I said nothing about a salary. I said they get paid. Very little in this world is for free.
English

@topeoyerinde They don't get paid a salary, maybe you should do some research. What you are talking about is probably bonuses after games.
English

These players don't get paid to play for Italy, they do it out of love for a country that gave them* asylum. If that's not enough, I don't know what is. Lol

English

@MartinoPooch I’m a cold of immigrants. No matter what you feel/identify with said nationality autochthonous citizens will never accept you as such. There’s a reason Italy doesn’t give citizenship to children of immigrants until after they turn 18. If you aren’t Italian by blood you’re less.
English

Moise Kean WAS BORN AND RAISED IN ITALY HE IS NOT A FOREIGNER
Prometheus@CaribbeanRythms
At some point you can’t help but notice that sportsball fans obsession with bringing in foreigners to play for their national teams bleeds into the bedroom. Spectators in every facet of their lives.
English

@TheGnomeofDoom_ @steady_profits @TouchlineX Nigeria produces some of the best attacking players. One of the best teams in the world in the late 90s
English

@steady_profits @TouchlineX Italy not at the world cup diminishes the tournament.
Nigeria hardly registers.
English

@max_asroma @notjame5 They do get paid. These are professionals. Nigeria’s players went on strike last year over non-payment of bonuses
English

@notjame5 I’m sure they would love to, but this is a country that granted them asylum, this is the least they can do. They don’t get paid to represent the national team, so it’s clear they do it out of love. But clearly, you’d rather beg Argentinians to represent your country.
English

The same people mad at this are the same people who would get mad if a Black player with Italian citizenship chose to play for an African team. Y'all would rather beg Chiesa🤦🏾♂️
Max@max_asroma
Gonna keep it a buck, this team would have 100% smoked Bosnia.
English

@HTMadridistas @sophsportss Costa Rica were the 3rd strongest team in Concacaf for a while but most of their golden generation has retired. They have completely regressed to what they were before. Canada has passed them
English

@topeoyerinde @sophsportss Haiti knocked Costa Rica out of its group to secure its qualification.
English

@bear_yami1994 @TailgateEast12 @arlowhite Im not a fan of the tournament being expanded to 48 teams but at the same time I’m still happy for the countries that have qualified for the first time or first time in a long time. The quality top to bottom is diluted a bit.
English

@topeoyerinde @TailgateEast12 @arlowhite So? If countries feel that they have a chance to compete at the WC, that country have a chance to develop their culture more towards events like this! Upgrades the level as well, look at Indonesia for example
English

@bear_yami1994 @TailgateEast12 @arlowhite Asia is very top heavy. The gap between Korea, Japan, Saudi, Australia and everyone else is massive.
English

Who are you to say countries like Haiti, Curacao, Cape Verde and Uzbekistan are not worth a place in the World Cup!?
How are you gonna call it a World Cup if over 50% is only European or South American. Why does South America need 6 of the 10 places? And in Asia with over 50 countries need 3/4 rounds to have a chance
English
