@popovicu94 My current lead loves bazel, I have seen insane levels of automation and independence of installation.

There is no Lua installed on my machine. And yet I can build and boot a Linux micro distro whose entire userspace is Lua. bazel build //userspace:initramfs Bazel fetches the Lua source itself, compiles the userspace to bytecode, generates C headers to embed that bytecode, statically links the whole thing against musl, and packages it as a bootable cpio image. From a clean checkout, with a musl GCC as the only thing assumed to exist beforehand. The JavaScript distro I built last year was a joke aimed at the purists. The Lua one is the same joke with the real lesson: where your build runs should not matter, because the build brings everything it needs along. That is hermeticity, and I've learned those principles through years of work at Google. "It works on my machine" was never an excuse there.
