This is why it is so galling when Hunt and Sunak try to spin technicalities in to sunlit uplands. They forgets that people actually feel the economic situation. While we are being told everything is rosy folks are having to sell their homes, or cut out essentials.

Today's GDP data shows the UK technically in recession (noting it's provisional data). But as always, the EXPERIENCE of living in this economy is more important than technical definitions. Millions will not be surprised as they have been struggled to afford essentials for years
