It’s interesting what you notice about buildings when you are a tourist in your own town. A short thread on the architecture details of @myscotiaplaza . First there’s the Greek key details in this ceiling that are constantly repeated.

@Brain_Chain Well, if you can’t be a ‘high net worth’ client, then having a sister is France will have to do! I hope you asked him with a French accent! 😂

@torzorean Yes it’s in the old banking hall on the Bay side of Scotia Plaza close to King Street. I think ‘high net worth’ clients are the only people usually allowed to go in but I had a sob story about my sister in France that worked 😆

@Brain_Chain I don’t think I’ve ever seen this beautiful clock, Kate. Thanks to your persuasive charming of the security guard, we call all see it now! 😁 👍

Not a Greek key motif and I had to cajole the security guard to get a photo of the clock in the old banking hall. /END

@culturaeditora #livros #literatura

17 Km of hard walking trail through mountains of high altitude to end crossing a narrow tunnel w/ water up to knees. At 66 years old was a big challenge!

@martin_roskruge I like to go back every couple of years. I use my blog to express both my memories of the Azores and my life in Toronto:  thetorzorean.com Cornwall is a beautiful place, too. I was there in 2019 on the way to Wales and loved it. You’re lucky to live there!

@torzorean How often do you get the chance to go back? I imagine that island life is totally different to your everyday life in Toronto. I live in the far southwest of England. The county of Cornwall has a coastline on 3 sides & a river dividing us from the rest of the country on the other.

@martin_roskruge Thank you, Martin, for your kind words and for taking the time to let me know that you enjoyed my article. I am looking forward to my next visit to the Azores (just don’t know when). It’s always a kind of homecoming even though Toronto has been my home for most of my life.

@torzorean I really enjoyed reading your well written travel article about the Azores. They are a beautiful archipelago of islands. Your life story is fascinating. To be able to return to your home every so often must be the highlight of your year.
