How long do you think it will take before Tinubu’s supporters start calling Gov. Seyi Makinde a ‘betrayer’ like they called Prof. Yemi Osinbajo?

My issue with Atiku supporters is that they get carried away easily. I saw Kwankwaso’s tweet last night and was laughing at the replies. He’ll be Peter Obi’s running mate come 2027.

Hahha Mr Peter Obi knows in his heart he was never going to participate in a direct primaries becuase he knows he can’t win. You can’t force consensus, if one out of 15 aspirants don’t agree then the process becomes void. Obi should contest in ADC primaries and don’t leave.
Everest@novieverest

Peter Obi less than 2 weeks ago demanding direct primaries. ADC then changed and said it must be consensus. Why? Peter has Kwankwaso and El Rufai. Atiku was sure to lose. I will show you where Atiku said consensus was his preference. Lessons.

He had a very strong team of mobilizers around him in 2023 but now he’s surrounded with content creators and clout chasers online who have no political value and can’t win their polling units. Lessons will be learnt 🤩🤩🤩

Politics is a ruthless game, yes, but Atiku, Kwankwanso etc have related with Peter Obi with calculated deception from the beginning of this “coalition”. Atiku CANNOT realistically go to the North’s core political Islamic stronghold and ask them to support Peter Obi as President while asking them to settle again for vice after another Southerner. He’s a literal mix of the two worlds that the north is deeply biased against (Igbo + Christian), and Atiku is fully aware of that. Jonathan success was a circumstantial fluke, that’s why he didn’t win second term. Kwakwanso knows this too. Yet they still aligned with Obi, fully aware he joined believing he had a real shot at the presidential ticket. Obi, on his part, also miscalculated, he didn’t secure that position upfront and relied on internal victory. Here’s the core issue: when you enter an alliance rooted in entrenched dirty political structures, you don’t outplay those who have mastered that system, you get outmaneuvered. That’s why everything is tilting toward Atiku. The alliance was never about making Obi president ; it was about leveraging his momentum. Atiku saw his numbers and Obi’s, his structure plus Obi’s grassroots energy, and positioned himself to benefit either way: absorb Obi’s support (as VP) or weaken him and make Obi leave with less supporters than he came with if the coalition collapses. Now comes the tribe factor, Kwakwanso and other northern candidates will without thinking twice, drop their personal ambition to push Atiku for Presidency if it comes to it, not necessarily out of loyalty, but alignment of interest. why? Because this coalition has always carried an undercurrent of a quiet push to return the presidency northward. Obi just didn’t see it, but Nigeria like I always said is coalitional, everyone came to the coalition with different goals, Obi thought the goal was just to take back power generally no matter who it is, but the north?, they came with ONE GOAL, to take back power. Two things the north values more than party affiliations is tribe and religion, so despite the fact that they were different sects (Kwakwanso, Atiku, El Rufai), against present Tinubu, the north doesn’t know party they only know “Power must return to the north”, which is why the goal of this alliance is for them to leverage Obi’s support base in the South East, tap into divisions in the South West, and then consolidate that combined leverage back in the North where voting strength is decisive to canvas the “north take it back movement”. Wish I could say more but I’m writing a biblical book at this point. Point is, the momentum that Obi and his supporters helped build to add to the strength of the opposition up to the consensus of all opposition to field ONE Presidential Candidate was not just done to weaken Peter Obi’s supporters’ say in a primaries (it’s now a much much broader political carnival now which Atiku has way more ‘mouth’), but to serve as a magnet to make Obi (if he wants to leave) leave with less than he came with and make the Atiku led opposition strong and enough without Peter Obi regardless.
