Matt Walsh does have bad takes. But his takes are just as valid as G&G’s and the way G&G responded to Matts to criticism wasn’t to point out a difference in opinion, it was the pearl clutching of Jeremy and the crew saying shit to the effect of “ohh my gosh Matt you don’t get to speak about video games, that OUR grift. You stick to talking about women and trannies”. Then without being told anything, the mere mention of the situation was queue enough to send the G&G fangirls to bombard Matt. Hell, it even worked! Matt backed off of gaming and anime pop culture entirely. All to protect the grift.

@totalDepth @jondelarroz @TRHLofficial @Nerdrotics Not in your example, at least not with the evidence prevented. You don't need to be part of a "whisper network" to think Matt Walsh has bad takes on video games and anime. Walsh likes to deliberately provoke those types of fans for his amusement.

My example still stands. Jon’s point about the “whisper network” to “hate out” people from G&Gs space is spot on. Although I wouldn’t classify what happened to Matt Walsh as cancel culture it definitely is a weird sort of gatekeeping and pretty gay when you consider both of Trump supporters and want to out DEI activists. I personally think it was due to G&G and Jeremy in particular getting scared that they’d have less people to beg for money from if Walsh got too much traction in their neck of the woods.

🚨 I was almost taken hostage in Cuba... I went to Cuba to document the humanitarian crisis and show life under 60+ years of communism and now amid the US blockade. Once I landed, they seized all my cameras except my iPhone and had intelligence agents following me all day until my security noticed their spies tailing us to the hotel where they waited all night for us to come down. Under communism there is no free speech, and those who show the reality or speak up are imprisoned. Me going without a planned Cuban government guide nearly got me and my security taken hostage or imprisoned. The situation in Cuba is much worse than anyone knows.

No reason to be insulting man. I did notice in OP post he mentioned canceling. My bad. But ya thats what they did I guess. They didn’t try to “cancel” Matt in that case. Just pointing out that Jeremy and G&G got extremely territorial at the mentioning of anything games or games related or nerd culture from Matt. It doesn’t matter how many ppl “work for Geeks and Gamers” there are probably 15-20k subscribers/followers that watch every stream… thats who flooded Matts comment sections and blasted him on X. It’s not that hard to understand and I don’t get why you’re coming off as being so defensive about it…

Stupid. Many of the most popular characters in gaming have either been peak human conditioned or not human at all or Character Creator based. And politics in games isn’t instantly bad. It’s the idea of inserting entire narratives into games that are based solely on pushing a political narrative and make no sense to exist within the game other than that. That and creators literally making games targeted at the bottom 20% of users and then insulting the other 80% by calling them “-ists” and “phobes”.

@Lord_Wompus I owned three separate variants of the system. None of them red-ringed. But my brother had one in his red ringed. I maintained my systems and periodically dusted them out. He didn't. Most red rings were because no one took care of the shit.

My friend. No body uses it just for themselves. It’s practically useless in that case, or at least not worth the expense of developing the data harvesting mechanisms. The existence of companies that pay $$$$ for the data and protections from the government for the sale/purchase i’ve said data pretty much ensure that. What happens is the manufacturers (Vizio in this case) sell the data to any one of the numerous brokerage companies who then provide a marketplace in order to sell it to advertising agencies, other manufacturers, governments, and or anybody else willing to pay for it. All legal.
